bridesmaids and make-up

hmmm if i pay for the girls make up or at least split it half and half with the girls, then i guess everyone can pay for their own hair right? except MOH ill pay for hair and make up for her.

More girls are willing to pay for hair, plus some girls might just want to doit themselves or just leave it the way it normally is.

At my friends wedding, there was no issue on who was going to pay. Each BM paid for their own. I had no problem at all paying for my hair and makeup, neither did the other girls. But something can always be worked out. Where is that list where is says who pays for what?, lol

haha no you cant make the bm's pay for make up at all or hair...INFACT if you request them to do a specific hairstyle or look then it is your obligation to pay for it. I am not asking any of them to do anything specific, they can wear hair or make up however they want.

Its completely up to them whether they want make up or not and also hair...I just need to know from ahead of time since make up artists and hair ask for a minimum of girls.

I just think i will talk to them and see who wants it, if they do want it then ill work with them to maybe split the costs...ill feel bad if its something they want but cant afford it but meanwhile they have to sit around and watch us get it done.

Part of me wants to pay for it all as a thank you to them

Yeah I dont care how they have their makeup or hair done or no make up or hair done, lol. They will be beautiful regardless. Are you also going to give BM/GM gifts as well for taking part of your special day? Thats what we do, give them very nice expensive gifts to thank them

Yeah i am also going to give them gifts too

Mine are going to have their makeup done. We found a place in Oceanside that a) does a beautiful job b) will travel to us and c) wil run less that 100 for hair and makeup (before tips).

But girls can do their own makeup and still look beautiful

Hmmm also for me i would rather get ready at home, having the pics of me at home getting ready, with all my bm's with music on, gotta have the pic of me smoking while getting ready and a redbull in my hand lol

Thanks! After doing extensive research I think I really like the woman I told you about yesterday, I might set up a trial with her soon. She's more expensive but I decided to leave out the chair covers to justify it! lol, the cigarette / red bull picture should be the pic that comes with the thank you card.

I will give them the option of getting it done but they don't have to. However I don't know how many will go that route so I think it will be hard to find a person without knowing how many I'll have as a definite you know? I don't want to ask my bridesmaids yet because its so far in advance - I haven't even asked my whole bridal party yet!

I know thats whats hard, i can guarantee me, my mother and MOH since ill pay for them definitely...hopefully 3 is enough, most i think have a 3 person minimum.

Thank goodness this is something I don't have to worry about. My FMIL owns the hair salon where we will be getting everything done. I guess if I did have to deal with this I would leave it up to my BMs or try to budget something lower in another area.

hmm I was thinking of just worrying about me and my FMIL.. I had pretty much told them (MoH and Bridesmaids) that they are on their own for the day as far as makeup and hair goes.

well you dont have to worry about them...just tell them if they do plan on paying for hair and make up regardless that if they want to consider using the same person as you are they are free to do so...again the reason this thread was posted was bc alot of make up and hair stylists who do weddings and come to you require a minimum of 3 people or more.

I am gonna tell my girls about the hair and make up person i am using, if they want to use the same person then they are free to do so and they can get ready at my house, if somebody wants to go to someone else then they can do that while were at my house, and if they want to do it themselves they can either get ready at their house or with the rest of us at my house

i know thats what i am gonna do pay for mom and MOH also FMIL if she wants to but shes getting ready at home so dont know how that would work.

The girls i am thinking of hiring, have this all day inclusive package which is one price for as many people as you want and for 8 hours...I am thinking about it bc for one i would love to have her there to retouch my make up for pics and before the reception if i need it. And if every girl does end up wanting make up, then it would come out cheaper per person...i have also been thinking if i get the package if i should pay for all of them but ahhhh its alot of money, i think thats make up and no hair, not sure though, if its hair too then that would be different.
