Bridesmaids hair/makeup?

question for you ladies--is it expected that the bride pay for bridesmaids hair and or makeup? What is the norm? I was thinking maybe paying for their hair and then leaving it up to them if they want makeup done. I know it can get expensive so I wasn't sure. What are you ladies doing??

I don't think it is expected. However if u want them all to wear the hair te same way and style then I would pay for it.

I definitely don't think it's expected. I may subsidize makeup for the girls since it will be $125 and I feel like that's a bit steep. I think that if you really, really insist they get it done then you should help out.

It's def not expected, but even putting a little money towards it, I'm sure would be appreciated. My sister gave us a certain amount of money to assist us in getting our hair/makeup done on the morning of. This was a part of our present and was greatly appreciated! HTH!

I'm not paying for hair or makeup. Makeup is optional though for the girls, and they can do whatever they want for hair

They are paying for their own. A few of the girls are opting to go with my hairstylist and a few are going where they are comfortable.. The only rule is that I am the only one allowed to have a half up half down hair do..

For make up that is up to them. I am just starting to price MUA's and for every wedding I had been in it was a bridesmaid chouce to do it yourself or get it done and I am going to give them the same option.

It is not expected. I am paying for everyones hair so that I know everyone will have their hair done : ) The makeup is their choice, if they want to do their own, thats fine!

I have always had to pay for my own, so I don't think its expected at all. I was not requiring my bridal party to have their hair done but they all wanted to so I booked a stylist to come to us day of. She is very affordable and all of my Bridesmaids have said they will pay for it, the only one I'm thinking of covering is my MOH since I wanted to do a little extra something for her.

I don't think it's expected at all. Every wedding I’ve been in, I’ve paid for my own makeup and hair. Except my cousin’s wedding, my aunt paid for our makeup as a gift for helping out so much.

I dont think its expected in todays world. Most of us brides and our friends know exactly how much our weddings are costing us. I will say make sure you get them really nice bridemaids gifts that all I'm going to make sure and do.
