Bridesmaids Hairdo's

Hi, for your wedding do you tell your bridesmaids how you want them to wear their hair or do they do however they want? Thanks!

I actually got my BM's to all wear the same dress, which some didn't want to because it was strapless, so considering I got my way on that task, I am allowing each of my 6 girls to do what ever they want with their hair. The choice is up to you, depending on how 'uniform' you want the bridal party to look.

Some people don't feel comfortable with certain hairdos. Most people will be concentrating on you, not the bridesmaids.

I didnt have a choice, as one of my bridesmaids hair was just growing back after chemo. The other 3 have long hair and they each chose to wear it up. How they wore their hair wasn't even a concern. We were just happy they were there with us.

I am one of those people who is extremely self conscious about my hair. My ears stick out (people tell me less than I think they do, but I think they're just being nice) - so if a bride told me I had to wear my hair up, I would be devastated. You figure, they are spending so much on the dress, shoes, etc already, might as well let them wear their hair the way they feel most comfortable with. You would hate for them to feel uncomfortable, after going thru all that trouble! You can always see if they can come up with a hairdo that is agreed upon by all, but you know what could possibly happen when you leave things like that up to a vote!! Good luck!!!!

for their hairdo I don't think you should tell them how to wear it. Even if you do pay, I don't think it necessary to dictate the style but especially if you have them pay.

I agree...I can't do an updo myself and I would need to get someone to do it...another expense.

I told them that I would like their hair up- my bridesmaids dresses were strapless and it looks better that way. I did tell them that they could put it up themselves or have it done. They all opted to have it done- it was nice having everyone at the hair salon in the morning.....it was relaxing to be surrounded by my closet friends :)

I will be paying for them to get their hair done. I'm requesting an updo, but they can choose the style.
