Anyone have (or thinking of having) each of your bridesmaids wear a different dress? both my sisters are my MOHs and will each wear the same color but different dresses (I want them to be different from the BMs). I was thinking of having my bridesmaids do the same thing.......
I'm so confused!!!!! I like the idea that they will each wear a dress they love but at the same time, I like the 'uniformity' of them wearing the same dress
what do you think? please post pics if you have any
TIA!

Re: Bridesmaids in different dresses?
i have 12 bm so i picked the same dress in 2 colors
Hi. I was in two wedding parties where the BMs wore different styles but we all had the same color and fabric. It looked nice...but i also think you may want to look at your BMs and thier body types...if they are all different shapes/sizes then maybe it's best to go with different styles. If they are all pretty similar...then i will say go for uniformity. I plan to have my BMs in the same dress and my MOH in a different style but same color as BM.
good luck!

Re: Bridesmaids in different dresses?
No pics yet but I'm doing this. I told them they had to be by Alfred Angelo, satin, floor length, A-line and we ordered them all in the same color. Not necessarily the separates but sticking to those are also a good way to simplify your options. It takes imagination but I really like how they're going to look. Plus, everyone loves their dress because they found the one that looks best on them and it didn't matter if it didn't look good on someone else.

Re: Bridesmaids in different dresses?
I think it's a great idea. I am picking out a few dresses by the same designer in the same color. Some of my bm's may also be pregnant so I picked and empire waist maternity style.

Re: Bridesmaids in different dresses?
I wrestled with these options too. What I decided on was the designer, length, color and material, but let them choose what they wanted. I think my BMs really appreciated the choice since they all feel comfortable in different styles. My other option was to do seperates. I was going to choose the skirt and let them choose the tops. I have no pictures yet. (not married yet, and the dresses didn't come in yet.)

My girls each wore a different dress. We ordered them all from the same designer & got them from the same dye lot so the fabrics matched.

Re: Bridesmaids in different dresses?
We are having each person wearing a different color and different style dress. The colors will be close, not exact. I have a MOH that is in her 50's and BM that is in her 30's and a jr bride maid that is 9. So it was difficult to find one designer that was able to accommodate all the people. Just as long as everyone is happy and comfortable with what they are wearing. I am okay with it.......

Re: Bridesmaids in different dresses?
We are having each girl in a different gown but all the same color. I have an album in my profile of all the dresses I gave them to choose from.
I think its going to look fantastic. If you want to tie them in together you can give them all something to wear thats the same. We are doing a blue flower pin somewhere on the dress because blue is our accent color.

Re: Bridesmaids in different dresses?
My sister had 5 BM's, I JBM, and 1FG and we were all in off white but in different dresses, and it looked awesome! I am right now thinking about getting two different dresses for my 5 BM's, and I think it will look fine. They are the same color, but totally different shapes. I think it is a good idea to use different dresses when you have girls who are built differently. What one might be comfortable in, another may not be. And I think it will look just fine! :)

Re: Bridesmaids in different dresses?
My MOH is wearing a completely different dress than my other BMs. I offered the other girls to get different dresses as long as they were same color, fabric, and length, but they all liked the same. It's in my album.

Holy bridal party, Batman!!
I think it's nice when your girls can choose a dress they feel comfortable in. I only have a MOH and one BM and they're about the same size, so the dress we picked works for both. If I had a larger BP, I'd probably do separates so they could pick.

Re: Bridesmaids in different dresses?
I'm a big fan of each bridesmaid (and moh) wearing different dresses - I would just use the same designer, same color, and fabric. They are able to wear what is most comfortable for them, and stand out as individuals. The way to make your sisters (Maid of Honors) stand out from the bridesmaid is by giving them bigger boq's and different color flowers.
My MOH had the same dress as the BM's, but her flowers were bigger and white & purple, where the BM's had only purple.
