Re: Bridezilla Moments

I flipped out on my hair salon when they tried to raise the price of the BM's makeup weeks after we had booked the appointment... and I'm not even paying for that!

They deserved it, though.

I also put my foot down and said that my SIL's 3-year old son CANNOT come to the RD. He was NOT invited, they knew about it in advance, and they just failed to make babysitting arrangements. My brothers live OOT and managed to find sitters. I wasn't having an uninvited 3 year old at a party that runs from 8-11.

Amazingly, after we put our foot (feet?) down, they found a sitter. I'm a beyotch, I guess!

while i don't think it was BZ--some family members thought i was being a BZ cause we refused to accomodate guests with children---we said no kids, and we kind of had a little blow up with my BIL who wanted to bring his FIVE, yes FIVE kids to the wedding--needless to say, he didn't come.

otherwise--i think i was pretty good.

And a FREE sitter at that. Amazing what people can do when they realize they have to...

I won't bend over backwards for FSIL - she's a bridesmaid and not only did she not attend my shower and not even send a card or gift, she didn't even RSVP to it. No way I'm making a child exception for her.

i've changed my room at the reception hall 4 times.. and the color of the wedding is known as the color of the day.. so no one believes me when i say what the color is..

Re: Bridezilla Moments

i was with my mom, grandma and sister/MOH shopping for my grandmother's dress, and after she found her dress and tried it on, the salespeople and seamstresses were being SO rude to her, pinching and pulling her everywhere, even AFTER she told them to be careful because she was recovering from shingles! this is on top of my sister opening her mouth to spout out her opinion every chance she got, before i even got a chance to say anything...

so i blew up at the seamstresses, told them exactly what my grandmother wanted (because apparently i was the only one listening to her!) and then proceeded to tell my sister that I was the BRIDE and I got to give MY opinions FIRST!!!

i never did that again - but it worked!

Re: Bridezilla Moments

my stepmom pulled me aside and asked me why FH asked one of my brothers to be in the wedding party and not the other... she was like yelling at me asking me if i plan on having him involved at all... i started freaking out and told her im sick of everyone telling me what to do with the wedding and i would appretiate it if she stopped butting in!! that was my first bridezilla moment... i say first cause with all this stress the wedding has brough i see more to come!!

Re: Bridezilla Moments

This is really really dumb, my dad is the sweetest person ever, but at the dinner table the other night we were all talking about the wedding and I was telling them where we were taking pictures (at the Long Island Museums) going on and on about the wonderful gardens, and then my dad was like:

'Yeah, that will be great...as long as it doesn't rain.'

I burst into tears! I know he was joking, but I thought it was the meanist thing in the world to say. He felt awful, and realizes that if it DOES rain, it is His fault

Re: Bridezilla Moments

I think I have only had two moments so far. I think... lol

The first would be when after months of my darling FH complaining about budgets and all that has to be done for the wedding (mind you I am planning this wedding alone when HE was the one who wanted this huge wedding) I lost my mind. I told him I was on strike from planning the wedding until his attitude changed. I handed him both wedding binders and called all of the vendors so they could direct their questions to FH I have never seen such fear in his eyes before.

The second would be after my MOH (sister) for months kept commenting on how she is picking the girls dresses and how it only matters that it looks good on her. I calmly tried to explain to her on numerous occasions that this will be a compromise. The best was when we were dress shopping and I told her this was MY wedding (when she was complaining, again) she informed me that it was 'kinda' her wedding also. That is when I told her if she did not like the way I was planning my wedding she should feel free not to come but in either case that she needed to shut her mouth because for once something was about me. God that felt good.

Re: Bridezilla Moments

I havent had any serious ones yet, but me and my mother do joke around with it alot...like the other day I was about to shower and my mother told me to hurry up because my father wanted to shower as well...

I started jumping up and down screaming IM THE BRIDE!!! HE CAN WAIT!!! LET HIM STINK!!! I COME BEFORE ANYONE...then proceeded to grab a bottle of cologne out of the medicine cabinet and put it down on the dresser. HE CAN USE THAT!!! IM THE BRIDE!!! My mother was hysterical!

Mine was on the day of the wedding. We went to Central Park to take pictures. And we wanted to go to the bridge but some of my bridesmaid's complained that they didn't want to walk anymore. Sorry, start walking
