Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

Did anyone have their epics taken here? They are trying to say that we need a $250 permit even though it is not commercial photography or wedding photography (aka not a bridal party). My FH said, 'What if it is just our friend taking pictures of us?' And didn't get an answer. Did anyone have this issue with them? Thanks.

Re: Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

I want to do this also for my engagement pics. I think it is stupid to expect us to pay for non-commercial pics. I hope they don't charge you if your friend is the person taking the pictures.

Re: Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

Honestly, just keep your mouth shut and go take your pictures. Just keep moving through the different part of the gardens and no one will say anything. It'll be great.

Re: Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

I agree...my friends and I go there often and take pictures with diff cameras... so many people do. If you're not in a wedding dress, you won't have to pay. There are people with professional cameras that camp out there in the beginning of May for the cherry blossoms...no permit. Just keep moving around. The Japanese Garden is a beautiful spot as well.

Don't you hate that as soon as you mention wedding or engagement, please jack up prices?!
Its so frustrating.

Re: Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

I really really do hate that. Its like the second they hear 'wedding' prices go sky high! I think that I'm just going to go for it. What's the worse they'll do? Say stop taking pictures?
