Re: Brunch

I don't feel obligated. Fox Hollow is providing free breakfast the next day, so that is good enough for me!

Re: Brunch

my in-laws are hosting a brunch at the hotel the next day! i am very happy about it. If they did not do it, we probably would have b/c we have a lot of OOT guests!

I am doing it. I actually worked out a preety sweet deal with the hotel I have everyone staying at. Do an open house brunch from 10-noon
Maybe have bagels and juice and coffee at your parents house?

i agree - maybe your parents wouldn't mind hosting one @ their home...it would be a great way to save some $$$

Re: Brunch

My mom wants to have a 4th of July party at the house the day after the wedding (I am getting married on 7/3). I hope she has most of it catered b/c I don't want her running around like a mad women the day after the wedding. Nothing is set in stone yet but I understand her wanting to see more of the OOT guests.

Re: Brunch

We are having one at the hotel but FH parents are paying because it's mostly their side of the family that's staying at the hotel.

I've also gone to ones at people mom's houses the day after which I think is a really nice idea.

For me, I think its another way to talk to some of the guests that I might have only had a chance to say hello to the night before and it's a more relaxed setting.

Re: Brunch

We are having brunch at my parents house the next day. A lot of my family has summer houses so only the grooms family will be at the hotel.

It works out great for us since it will turn into a July 4th BBQ.

I didn't feel obligated, we wanted to do a brunch to see everyone the next day and recap the night before leaving for our honeymoon.

Re: Brunch

It is becoming an issue for us. I would like to have one but after dropping so much money on the wedding, we have to ask ourselves if we have to feed everyone all weekend. It is difficult.

Thanks for the feedback...

I think I'm being childish b/c I really wanted to have a brunch, everyone was on board at first. Then my parents wanted a catered brunch at their house. I don't want to do that, the whole point is b/c there are so many people staying at the hotel. And now FI doesn't want to do it either...

I LOVE day after brunches and I'm losing my battle....
