I get sick about how much were spending in total because we could've eloped and spent all this money on a down payment for a beautiful house haha. I just keep telling myself were only once.
I agree I say the same thing to myself.

I only booked 2 things and I'm a couple of thousand away from the budget i had in my head. Sooo I'm Def going over budget lol

I honestly didn't know how to set a budget! crazy as it sounds, i couldn't figure out how much i wanted to spend on anything!all i know is we are spending alot of money!! lol i'm so clueless!

I know how to set up a budget but I have NO idea how to stick to it. And so of to our house down payment budget we go.

We started with a budget but didn't really know what everything was. So we sat down and estimated at about how much everything would cost. We tried to over estimate to be safe. From there, we made an entire itemized lists for costs. From there, we deducted any money that we knew for sure was coming in from help or taxes or student loans or part time jobs and so forth. Once we subtracted that and knew how much it was that we would be left with, we added up all of our bills and what we made monthly to see exactly how much we needed to put away each month. I took the list and started making purchases as I found deals. Amazon has been my best friend along with michaels. I called vendors until I found the best possible deal out there. I use retail me not everywhere I go and search for each and every coupon that I can find. I made cuts where I could and splurged on the more important aspects.

Funny, FH and I had a short argument this morning about budget. There was an unrealistic budget set at the beginning. FH and I try to be very careful about wedding expenses and fortunately we've been good at keeping everything but the guest list under control lol.

We never really set a specific budget because we had no idea what things would really cost. What we did do though was get as many quotes as possible for every type of vendor to try to determine what was a reasonable price and make sure we weren't overpaying. Still looking at the total number makes me absolutely sick.
