BUDGET Day of Coordinator

Hi, I am looking into a day of coordinator and some of the quotes I heard are way out of my budget. Would anyone mind giving me some quotes/recommendations?

wow $2500 is a lot! once upon an event quoted me 1 coordinator for 6 hours $295 & for 2 coordinators it was $395. definitely reasonable!

Question... What exactly does a DOC do? Because I can't figure out what they could possibly do that I can't do myself, lol.

DOC usually extends beyond just the day...they usually meet with you months previous to the wedding and again right before the wedding to confirm all the vendors. It's not always necessary to have a DOC if you're having your wedding in a traditional wedding hall. If I wasn't bringing in all the decor/furniture and needed to make sure the floor plan was executed I would of skipped the DOC.

Here's what my DOC is doing:

Confirmation with vendors to ensure everything is on point

Distribution of final vendor payments & gratuities

Direct vendor load in and load out of all equipment

Setup of décor

Creation of a detailed event timeline & floor-plan that is distributed to vendors and staff

Organization of the ceremony processional and recessional

Communication with all vendors throughout the event to ensure everything is on time and contractually correct

Management of gifts & clients personal items delivered to the bridal suite or to the designated driver/car at the end of the event
