I'm not sure what you're budget is but check out Sandals Resorts

They have many locations and it's a couples only resort. I might end using them myself.

We ended up booking on Travelocity..6 nights all inclusive, airfare for under $3,600. You can definitely do it! Keep checking Travelocity randomly during daytime and nighttime hours..I literally was bored and checked and it worked perfectly. 10 mins later, the deal wasn't available anymore!

ETA: We're going to Aruba (RIU) in August- which is an expensive time to go there!

with 6k you can do a lot. We did brazil for 8 nights at a luxury resort in March/April and spent 6k. Where do you want to really go? I thinkif you want tropical, you can do almost anywhere in the caribbean. Maybe not Tahiti or the Maldives. depending on how much time you have, you could do Thailand or Fiji with that amount too. The cost of flights might determine if its within your budget though. So caribbean might be your best bet at that point. But 6k is def more than doable and you can easily do a week at a 4 star resort.

We did Puerto Vallarta as well. LOVED IT!
We did 7 days/6 nights for under 3,000 at Dreams Resort and Spa. That was before spending money and an excursion. In total it was probably around 3,200.
