Budget Question -REALLY need opinions. W/ poll.

Ok so I REALLY need some opinions on this one.
We- at the ABSOLUTE MOST and I'm talking ABSOLUTE- cannot go over $7000 for DJ & photo/video.

Does it make more sense to budget $4000 for DJ and $3000 for photo/video? Or $4000 for photo/video and $3000 for DJ?

Or any other suggestions? Do you think $3500 for each is logical?

Initially I had 3000 for DJ and 4000 for photo/video but that doesn't seem to make sense now.

DJ is more important to us, but we certainly don't want garbage pics/video. I know a lot depends on specifics, but just from what you girls have seen, what do you think makes more sense?

I'll probably remove this post for lurkers at some point.

ETA: DJ will be doing ceremony, CH, & 6 hr reception.

i think 4000-5000 for photo and video and 1000-1500 for dj

ITA...photo and video is the only memory you will have of your special day so it's best to not cut back on this too much. Yes, You can find reasonable photographers and DJ's that are awesome and inexpensive. Photos I recommend J'adore Love. I have info if you need it.

we did 5000 for photo/video, and 2000 for dj. worked out well for us :)

I agree with the above posters. I would spend 2k on DJ, and not get any of the upgrades and spend more on photo video. Photos are the only thing that you will have to remind you of your wedding.

ITA !! You will have the pics and video forever.

Photo and Video is the lasting tangible items from the wedding. I would totally spend more on that then DJ.
