Hi all! My Fi and I are trying to figure out if we are just crazy or just dreaming. I know that wedding are way over priced and many people go into debt. We are not willing to do this at all.
We have not looked around yet, we are goint to start this weekend so any help will be great.
Are we crazy for thinking that we can have a wedding for $55 - $65 a person? There could be 75 - 115 people (all depending on cost). We are looking to do it in the winter since it is cheaper and want to do it on either a friday night or sunday bruch.
does anyone know of any place that is priced at that level?
I have gotten quotes for the photographer and dj and we can find ones in our budget but the reception is driving me nuts.
HELP!!!

Don't worry..it's totally doable! We got married on a Saturday afternoon, end of November for just over the range you listed. Never be afraid to ask vendors about how costs could be lowered to fit in your budget. Oftentimes, they will work with you.

Listen, I have the best advice...book your wedding 5-6 months out because people are willing to work with you on the price so they can fill the date. We got Giorgio's for 75 a head on a Saturday afternoon in June! We were flexible on the dates and they happened to have a cancellation. We also visited flower fields, crescent beach club, etc etc and they were all willing to drop their prices!!!!

I had called up Westbury Manor which was booked on my day anyway, and the guy on the phone tried selling me a january friday night wedding for $59 per head! Westbury Manor is gorgeous and you can def fit it in your budget if you're willing to go off season! This is the amount he offered me on the phone, so I would think you could get him down to $55ish if you tried!
Try looking at Milleridge Carriage House as well - they offer brunch options and dinner options, and 75-100 will be nice and cozy in there!
Swan Club, Leonards will work with you. . . I know someone who got CLM down to the 60's on a Sunday night in April, so you can def get them down to low 60s in the winter, maybe even lower if you spring for a Saturday or Sunday day time wedding.
You have so many options! You can defintely do it!

Going in, we knew that we wanted to have a brunch buffet. That's exactly what we're having on a Saturday for $30 pp.
If that's not what you want, you can definitely find something within your budget if you're willing to be flexible on days/time of year.
My brother-in-law's sister got married on Columbus Day (a Monday) at the Swan Club and it cost her $45 pp.

You are not crazy at all. I guess it depends on the type of agffair you want to throw.
My FH and I will have been engage for 2 years when we say 'i do', mainly to pay for the event.
I absolutely know that my venue has reduced prices for winter affairs as well as different menus to choose from.
Make a list of everything you absolutely have to have, expect to pay and than add 20% because you will definitely go over!
Good Luck!
