Beleive it or not Matt and I were about $3,000 under budget. (and I am not talking a big budget)
I planned to go under. We got to keep the rest of it (my dad paid for the wedding)


The secret was a lot of patience and a lot of research. For example we picked an invitatiion that was going to run us about $1200. A woman in my town works out of her house and got the same invite for me for $285. And I addressed them on the computer myself. I also had my boo'ks done by a woman who works out of her house in my town and saved lots of money.

I also booked my DJ $950 ( and he was great!!!)

I will be more than happy to share vendor info if anyone wants it.

All my vendors are booked, my sisters helping me, but we STILL went over about 6K

Edit to say we didnt go over on reception, we had that figured out PRE-budget making.
We went over on all the extras.

Oh and I got our favors at the $1 store and they were a huge hit!!! They were botanical tea light holders.

I think we'll go over but not by much. We never set a Stern budget. We kind of just guestimated what it would cost.

I'm 'guesstimating' that we'll go over by 5-6K.

Each little thing that I keep adding is costing a thousand bucks or more everytime.

i'm guessing that we'll go over a bit, but i won't really know until i see how many people are coming. i'm figuring on 120, but if only 100 or less show up then maybe we'll stay right on budget. luckily i don't have to pay much for flowers b/c we have a florist in the family, but unfortunately i kind of am spending more on other things b/c i figured i had extra money. our biggest problem right now is keeping the hm budget under control. ****, hawaii is expensive!!!

unfortunately it looks like we are going to be about 10K over budget We didn't calculate all the 20% service charges in the original budget or the tipping.

maybe I was unrealistic...but I so went over...I might even say over $10K...I got to a point I stopped keeping track

We haven't really set a budget, but I guess we have an idea of about how much we plan to spend. Haven't booked too much yet, so we'll still have to see how close we come. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we won't go over much!

Looks like we will be at budget. I think that if the guest list responses are as we expect them we may even be about $1K under budget. If guests show that we weren't expecting will be stay at budget. I'm ok with it either way.

We're staying on budget no matter what. We don't have a lot of $$$$ to waste, so every penny counts. I've got the lowest price- for photographer, I didn't order our album or the parents in this budget.... things like that. We wanted to have a nice wedding, but can't make money grow on trees.

Hawaii is expensive! That's why we're making that a 'to do' for a future vacation. We found that Aruba was expensive as well... looking into Cabo, San Lucas to stay within budget.

We just chose what we liked, spent what it cost, and then looked back at the receipts and contracts and said 'Holy $hit?!'
