So FH and I have been talking and we think it's best to push our wedding from 2013 to Jan 2014. I'm really bummed about it b/c I really just wanna go through with it already :-\ . I picked up my wedding dress tonight! so in love with it! i can't wait to wear it..........20 months feels like such a long time though. I know realistically it's probably best to wait but. 20 months. we got engaged Aug of 2012.....

it will go sooo fast! FH and I have been engaged for over 17 months and only have 9 left-- that scares me! On our 1 year mark I had a freak out and asked if we could push back our wedding 1 more year

Financially and stress wise this has been working amazingly! My brother did his wedding in exactly 1 year and my other brother has less than 2 months to plan his and I don't envy either of them!

Wow. I could not be engaged that long without going insane! We would have done 7 months if my sister wasn't getting married in September. I've known my FH for 17 years so our situation, waiting a long time would have been silly.

I don't think waiting is ever 'silly' if you have the right reasons. My BM has known her FH since kindergarten (their moms were best friends), and for financial reasons they're having a 2 and 1/2 year engagement. She's told me she enjoys the time to really iron out all the little details.

Girls with long engagements it will go fast, I promise!

I think you have to do what it best for you and your FH. My FH and I chose to have a long engagement so we could save money and plan slowly. By the time we are married we will have been engaged 26 months. We have about 7 and a 1/2 months to go and honestly it has gone by so fast! I would make the same decision again if given the choice.
