Re: Burglary in The Riviera
Could happen to anyone, anywhere i think.
This is why FH is going to be in charge of the money the day of the wedding!

Re: Burglary in The Riviera
I agree, I think it could happen anywhere. FH and I walked into a number of RH's that I wont mention that we were able to walk around essentially the ENTIRE facility before being noticed (one of the reasons we DID not chose those places). I think that I will get/make a lockable gift box & get a lock box that only me, FH, BM, MOH or MOB have the key to. Good luck ladies!

Another thing to remember is that to tell your BP not to bring valuables b/c they usually leave their bags in the Bridal Suite as well

Re: Burglary in The Riviera
So my dad is giving them a call sometime to discuss this incident and to see what they are doing about it....I'll let all you Riviera girls know how it goes.
Its true it can happen at a lot of places, it just s ucks when its the place you choose!

Re: Burglary in The Riviera
The suite at JT has a safe in the room...but that works for smaller items not a bunch of purses. I'm gonna have ppl put wallets, keys, etc in it and have empty or non valuables in their bags if they'll be out. But I'm pretty sure there are locks on the door as well. Double checking time!

I'm glad they caught the guy. I feel so bad for the people who were robbed.
I'm giving all my tip money to my DOC the day of and if they haven't come up with a safe or some sort of lock box by my wedding date, I'll just bring my own.

That is exactly what I am planning on doing. I will be calling during my lunch break this afternoon.

That's just awful! It didn't mention if he worked for the Riveria or if he was just a wedding crasher.

Re: Burglary in The Riviera
When I was looking at venues I asked if they had a safe in the bridal suite. The BM said there was not but there is one in the office and that we would be able to use it if we felt that we needed to.

Re: Burglary in The Riviera
I agree - I wasn't planning on leaving any valuables in there anyways because I noticed that it doesn't have a lock. My dad is going to be holding all the envelopes with the tips and anything i do plan on leaving in there is not going to be anything of value.

Re: Burglary in The Riviera
I'm going over next week to start finalizing everything.
I'm going to ask what kind of 'security measures' they've put in place because of this.. but I don't think I'll have/leave anything valuble in the bridal suite anyway.

please let us know what they say. I'm planning on addressing it as well when I bring my next payment in.

Re: Burglary in The Riviera
Honestly, its not even something I was thinking of with RH's. Since I'm not getting married on-site I kind of ignored the B Suite thinking I wouldn't need it, I wasn't really considering purses and such should be kept in there, hmmm...
