Burtons Florist

I have a question for any one with information on florists. I went to Burtons today and the price that I was quoted seemed very inexpensive and they also said that I could have any flowers that I wanted. Does this sound right to anyone. Also has anyone used Burtons. I could use any help right now, I do not know what to do as far as florists go. Thanks so much.

Re: Burtons Florist

I also booked Burtons. One reason his prices are less expensive is that they do not have a fancy showroom or advertise at all. I spoke with them about the any flower opition and they told me it is much easier and less work all around because brides change their mind during the planning. He used to charge like most do, by flower type, and he had brides calling needing new prices all the time. This way it works for all involved.
If you wait until 11/2 (my wedding day) I can tell you how Burton's did for me.

Re: Burtons Florist

I am also using Burton's in December. Another reason why they maintain inexpensive prices is because I believe they only do wedding flowers. For instance, if they order calla lillies (an expensive flower), they are sure they will use them all, and do not have to make up the price difference for the ones that won't get 'purchased'.

Re: Burtons Florist

Thanks so much for your help. Do any of you have pictures of your centerpieces from Burtons?

Re: Burtons Florist

For those of you who booked Burtons and have gone to your 'flower selection' appointment, could you tell me if you discussed your flowers with the actual person who designs the bouquet/centerpieces or do you still discuss designs with the sales person. Do they do a sample for you?

Also, I'm concerned that since its one price regardless of type of flowers that they might use more greenery fillers than flowers. Did you find that your centerpieces were abundant with flowers?

Re: Burtons Florist

We also booked with Burton's. We've heard so many great things about them. We met with them and they offered us a great deal and were so nice. Their arrangements were beautiful. We're getting married in less than 2 weeks so I can also let you know how things went.

Re: Burtons Florist

I originally met with John and went back and met with Mike for flower selections. I didn't care for Mike as much as John. I never felt there was more greenery than flowers, there was a ton of flowers in my bouquet and it was really heavy. I felt Burton's pushed roses a lot since they hold up well (have had other florists do this too) but it was a good choice anyway and I know they will do whatever you want.

Edited to add that I got my centerpieces through my hall but I heard they do samples of centerpieces. They did not show me a sample of my bouquets though.

Re: Burtons Florist

You get a centerpiece sample a few days prior to the wedding.
I always deal with John from Burtons and have done very well. He is very attentive and listens to what you want.
I will post photos after my 11/2 wedding and you can see for yourself./
