I'm meeting with Burtons next week to see what they offer and I realized I have no idea what to ask!
What should I be asking florists? I don't want to go in looking like a total idiot.
Any ballpark figures on what it should cost for a bridal party of 3 girls 3 guys and a wedding of 150-200?
TIA

Re: Burtons questions
Burtons was the first florist I went to and they took care of all the questions and came up with stuff I didnt even realize I needed. Dont worry they will know just what to ask and they make i tquick and painless
As far as $$$ I was quoted 750 I think I have 7 girls and 7 men FG and 4 corsages plus me and throw away
I am not doing floral CP's so that quote was W/O CP's but I remember him saying they would run btwn $75-100 a piece HTH

Re: Burtons questions
i went there with limited questions. i just went in there with a list of all the things i needed from them. i got a pretty good quote. we did not finalize actual flowers or anything since my wedding is a year away. good luck, i think you'll be happy with them!

Re: Burtons questions
they offered me $1900 (before tax) for 15 centerpieces, 5 bridemaid bouquet, one bride bouquet, on throw away, 7butonierre, two hand clutches for mom and a butonierre for grandma.
so basically they charge you for how many pieces you have and not what kinda flowers you want.
keep in mind they only have the 'in season' flowers. if you want peonies in august -- that will not happen.
so far im definitely keeping them in mind, i did put down a deposit -- at least that holds my date :)
hth!

Re: Burtons questions
It helps a lot. I'm glad they do 'in season' flowers - that's why I'm looking now - I want to see what's in season this time of year since I'm getting married next November.
I admit to being very ignorant when it comes to flowers - I know tulips and roses and that's it! I'm pathetic!

Re: Burtons questions
I knew nothing about flowers when I went to them. Just had a few ideas of what I wanted. I met with Bobby when I went there. She was very helpful and made me feel comfortable, so we chose them!!!

Re: Burtons questions
I booked with Burtons. I ended up deciding to do my own centerpieces, which cut off $1350 (for 18 low centerpieces @ 75 each). This is what I'm getting for $650:
my bo-k 2 moh bo-ks 2 bm bo-ks 3 corsages for mom/grandma 7 bouteniers and an arrangement for the mantle in the room where the ceremony will be
They also charge a delivery/assembly fee (although there aren't any cp's to place) that's $200 which is included in the 650. They only ask you to leave $50 to book the date and then you go back when it's closer and pick the exact flowers. They have tons of books to look through to get ideas. They did my sister's flowers and they were gorgeous, so I'm looking forward to mine. Good luck!

Re: Burtons questions
So how do you know what flowers are in season when? I was thinking of meeting with them because I want cymbidium orchids and I get the feeling they're expensive. But I have no clue what season they are?

Re: Burtons questions
I meet with Mike and unlike any other florist that I had meet. He did not have a sale pitch and he was really down to earth. They were working on a wedding at the time so he showed me an actual cp. (it was beauitiful).
