Burtons...UPDATE!!!!!

Burtons...UPDATE!!!!!

I am beginning to have doubts. I've heard very mixed things from EVERYONE but when I met with them, I LOVED them.

I called Mike back about a week later to ask him a question or two and I was told that there was another inquiry for our date and for a Sunday morning they can only take one so let them know by Saturday morning when the other appointment comes in. I didn't want to start with another florist and I booked it. I got a receipt and a contract by mail a few days later. The contract included most of what we talked about , though not all (slightly concerned but not worried) and said to make an appointment to finalize before August 10th.

Today I call to make that appointment and we finally get someone on the phone (first time I've had an issue) and the woman is abrupt, not the sweet lady I spoke to. And I keep telling her that I need to make an appointment to finalize as per Mike. I want to make certain it will be with Mike because of what a bride wrote recently about finalizing with someone different. She keeps asking why I need an appointment and what for and then insists that I am not one of their brides anywhere in September. Am I sure I left a deposit? Keep spelling my name. Keep giving the date. When did I book? When did I visit? How did I pay?

In the end, she ends up making the appointment but now I have concerns. Did they book that other wedding for my date? Did they lose alllllll of my info. I no longer have the faith and confidence that I once did with my florist but I am hoping for the best. I'm hoping that this was just a disorganized receptionist and my meeting on the 6th will restore my confidence.

EDA:My phone rang 5 minutes ago and it was Mike. He called me and said 'I understand that there was a misunderstanding. I just wanted to let you know that your paperwork isn't lost or anything. Your file, along with about 10 brides are in my desk drawer. I started making phone calls yesterday before I went home to set up those appointments and you were in that pile and I put them in my desk drawer and the girls didn't know that so it's my fault. I'm sorry, I didn't want you to worry that we lost your forms!' I told him that I WAS worrying and I appreciate the phone call. May I add that I'm once again happy because he really didn't have to call me just to make me feel better

I have been hearing not such great things as well, BUT my MOH used them and she had no complaints. The flowers were beautiful and she had no issues so don't worry. They will get the job done !

Yeah I was very impressed with Mike so I'm hoping that this was just one disorganized receptionist. I'm willing to give it that, and wait and if I go in August and I'm not happy then all I lose is a $50 deposit.

I felt the same way. Loved them up until the week of my wedding and then the nightmare they made of my CPs. I spelled everything out gave them a pic of exactly what I wanted and they still messed it up. I know lots of people who rave about them but I would never recommend them or use them again.

How were the rest of your flowers? I'm not getting centerpieces from them, just bok's and bout's. Still...

I felt the same way about them, but today I went for my final payment and saw my sample centerpiece and it was gorgeous!!! Nicer than I thought it was going to be. I gave them pictures of everything that I wanted so that is why I think I am safe. I would literally give them pics of exactly what you want. I first met with Bobbi (the girl) and when I got home and looked at my sheet she totally f'd it up, so I made sure to have my final appt with mike and everything since then has been great!!!

I would definitely deal with Mike

I used Burton's for my wedding and I loved them. They were on top of things, patient and were the best price we found. I wasn't crazy about my cp when I first saw it but talked to them and worked it out. Our Boks were STUNNING!! THe were on time, professional and one of my favorite vendors. You are ok..don't worry!

Oh Chrissi! Don't worry. Who was the woman you spoke to? I met with Bobbi last week (she's my consultant there) and she was very patient, despite the fact that there was a LINE of other brides waiting to speak to her. I'd meet with her if you haven't yet! She gave me some great ideas in order to achieve the fluffy peony look I want (even though I can't get peonies in Sept )

How does it work with Burton's? We are booked there for our December wedding, but I didn't go to the initial meeting, my mother did. They told us to come back in September to discuss what we want to do. Do I talk to them about colors and what I am looking to do ahead of time and do they show us there, or do we just discuss for the first time at the meeting?

And do I get to see a sample centerpiece? How close to the wedding?

I wouldn't worry at all! I've worked with them numerous times now and everything has been amazing!!!!!!!
Here are the CPs from my shower. I have my E-party CPs in my album if you want to look at them as well.

When you go back and meet with them you can tell them what sorts of flowers you are looking for, colors etc. Then the week of your weddng you will go back to see YOUR stuff...it will be all set up for you to look at and any changes can be done at that point

Glad it worked out! They are a vendor on here, and check these boards so they may have seen your post, since the title was 'BURTON'S' with a sad face.

I thought of that also. Either way, I feel better and that's all that matters. And if I end up with super pretty flowers because they know I'm active on the boards, that's A-ok with me!
