Bustles

Hi Ladies!

I am going for my first fitting next weekend and I don't know what type of bustle to ask for.

Can you please post pics of your bustles and they types that they are?

TIA

Re: Bustles

Here is mine, it is a 3 point French bustle. It is a double bustle b/c the lace layer is longer than the satin layer below, so they have to bustle each layer separately so they are the same length when I bustle.

Re: Bustles

I LOVED my bustle but it fell only because my man of honor and bridesmaid only went to one of my fittings to find out how to do it. It was a double french.

Re: Bustles

Mine was a french bustle, done with ribbon ties. I think it was 14 points?

I highly recommend a ribbon tie bustle, mine stayed up almost the whole night (we just had to tighten the ties once)

Re: Bustles

How does your dress look? That would help when trying to figure out which one would look good. I had an A-Line ballgown with lots of work on my train and a part of it was a lace overlay...the 5-point bustle was the only one that worked with my train.

Re: Bustles

I have a French and Italian combination Bustle. The Italian is when you just pick up the back and the French is when you tie it under so it gets that poofy bubble in the back.I don't have a pic just yet, but I will have one next Tuesday!

Re: Bustles

Here's the bustle that I'd like to get for my dress because I have a design on my dress that extends down the back and reaches up from the bottom, so a simple bustle like this will make the design look continuous:

That is still a lot of train left (probably as long as my train was unbustled!)

I definitely would have been tripping on it all night & tired of carrying it around on my arm

It is pretty though ...

You're right, that IS a lot of train...luckily my dress train is not that long, I just saved this photo as an example of the type of bustle I want to get
