Butterflies (Debbie)

I don't want to offend you but I think the way butterflies are released is cruel. They come individually packaged in envelopes and then they have to migrate all the way to Mexico. I've heard a lot of bad things such as butterflies being dead when the envelopes were opened. They can't be opened until they're about to be set free so you have no way of knowing until that day. Nothing is less cheerful than dead butterflies on your wedding day. Plus they are really expensive. Please forgive my opinion...I just wanted you to know the risks.

Butterflies not all you expect

I went to a wedding on the beach in Cape Cod and we released butterflies.I had never heard of it before and the concept is lovely. I was really excited until the actual release. Some of the butterflies were dead and some people are...lets just say....less then gentle...with the little cardboard packages. There were a few injured butterflies limping around on the ground and some got stepped on. Also, the kids at the ceremony got excited and started getting a little loud. :-( If you still want to do it consider only the bridal party to release or just the officiant, you and the groom. That way you can control it better.
