Has anyone ever been to a wedding where they released butterflies instead of throwing rose petals etc? If you have, did it look good?

I have been to a wedding where we released butterflys- it was okay- they kind of all flew out at different times.
My cousin also was going to to do it out of a box (instead of the envelopes like above) and it was raining so none would come out.

i saw it on tv for a wedding and i thought it was kinda silly. like what's the point. but the rose petals, feathers, maybe rice, etx idea sounds really nice. plus it gives the guests the chance to interact.

We used butterflies and they were beautiful, very expensive, but beautiful. We got a lot of compliments from our guests about how pretty it was. We used the boxes and none came dead. If you follow the directions carefully, you can't go wrong.
At first I thought it was kinda mean but then I thought... hey I eat beef, chicken, pork.. etc... that's mean... At least the butterfiles get to live!
oh, we used Swallowtail farms. They are in California I think. They have been around for a while.http://www.swallowtailfarms.com/
