By far the craziest thing MIL has done...I don't get it.

I picked up my proofs! Yay! But...

MIL was debating about getting her own set of proofs. I was told she went to the photographer and decided against it. She didn't want to spend the $$$. Instead she asked me if I would go with her to color copy every single one of my 1200 proofs. Sure. No problem.

Then yesterday she calls DH THREE times to tell him that the photographer called to tell her that 'Robyn has not returned the proofs and if she doesn't give them back in 30 days then we charge 1 1/2 percent interest.'

Something didn't make sense to me because (1) I bought a package that included the proofs (2) It doesn't seem reasonable for a photographer to think that someone can go thru all their pictures in less than 30 days, including parents for their albums and (3) the photographer HATES MIL for all of the sh_t she's given him and I can't believe he'd initiate a conversation with her.

So I called the photographer today. And here's the end result:

1. I do indeed own my proofs
2. I can take my time sorting through pictures - there is no interest charge
3. THEY NEVER CALLED MY MIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. She ordered her own set of proofs

Can you just tell me why MIL would even care how long I'm taking if she ordered her own proofs? But more importantly, Why would she lie like this to me? What is the point? I don't get it.

I told DH quickly and then said to just drop it, there's no need to discuss this further. We have our pictures, we own them and that is all that matters. I don't need him to tell me his mother is nuts because I already know that HE knows it.

I just really, really don't get it....
