I won't be finding out until Friday on what the birthing plan is. That is if he doesn't come by then. (I'm hoping he does! ) They'll be checking approx. how big he is. They'll suggest a C-section at a certain weight to avoid certain risks and problems. So, at 36 weeks supposedly he was 8.5 lbs. So at the sonogram this week I'll be just over 39 weeks. I can't imagine him only gaining 1/2 - 1 lb in a few weeks, when the last estimate he gained 3.5 lbs in a few weeks. Anyway, I still don't know how I feel about a C-section, but for those ladies that have had one, could you fill me in, in what I can expect, good and bad? If you want you can forum mail me. Thanks so much!

Well said Jenn P!
Although everyone makes good points, we are all forgetting one very important point - Michele never said anything to purposely hurt or offend anyone. All she did was share her own experience. Why are we beating her up for it? This has gotten really extreme. Some of the earlier posts written by a 'medical professional' were downright cruel IMO.
Cruel????
First of all, if you would have actually READ the responses I made instead of assuming what I was saying, you would see that I NEVER ONCE said that her opinions and feelings were invalid..I even made it a point to state that she IS ENTITLED TO HER FEELINGS!!! Give me one example of where or when I said that her feelings were 'wrong'. Go ahead. I dare you.
And yes, she did say things to hurt others. You dont think yelling fire in a crowded movie theatre causes panic??? That is exactly what she did. Posting all horror stories about birth on a parenting board is the same as that.
However, I do think its a greater evil to go around presenting LIES AND FALSE INFO to scare women to death, than to offend one person.
All I did was call her on her misinformation because she was scaring people half to death.

Re: C-sections...
I havent been pregnant yet but I know that it can be painful to give birth. But everyone has their own experiences. I've had women tell me that it was no big deal and those that say it was so painful. One of my cousins that had her first baby in november said that her labor was a horror. They couldnt get the epidural shot in her for some reason so she had no drugs nothing and was in pain the whole time. I bet her screams were heard down the hall as well. when you are in that much pain you dont care who hears you screaming. I know I would scream my ears off and not care who heard me...LOL
As long as the baby is born healthy then i'll take any pain that comes with giving birth.
