Re: Caffe on the Green

I went to look there and it was a beautiful room and I only need half the room and then I thought it was too small, so we went to another hall. The food I heard was amazing and so is the service. The view at night is great..looking at the Throngs Neck Bridge. It's diffinitely worth a look.

Re: Caffe on the Green

I've gone there for dinner and the food is really good. It is also a nice place. I hear they have a catering room upstairs but I have never been there for a wedding.

Re: Caffe on the Green

I actually went there to check it out b/c it is close to my church. It is very nice and I also heard the food was good. The price for a Dec wedding was much higher than we were quoted in other places and they wanted to divide the room with another party b/c we didn't have enough people and we just thought that was too close for comfort. It's a beautiful place though.

Re: Caffe on the Green

I actually grew up near there and have eaten there many times. The food and service is excellent. I did not look at it for us, but my SIL did for her wedding and I know her (and our mothers) did not like the room. Supposedly, it is like 2 separate rooms that they put together and the dance floor is in an awkward place. Like I said, I didn't see it so I don't know what that means. But I would definitely say to check it out for yourself.

Re: Caffe on the Green

I looked at them too.

I think if you are having a small wedding it would be fine. Otherwise they open the room up and it is very awkward.

The food sounded good. I have heard mixed reviews about the restuarant food. People really realy love it or they hate it.

Re: Caffe on the Green

I agree with the ladies who said the room set up is awkward...and that the food is delicious. My friend got married there and to be honest with you, I have no idea where the wedding party sat, you couldn't even see them from where the guest tables were. But the food was absolutely fantastic. Maybe they have another set up that's possible though, you should discuss it with the banquet manager.
Good luck!

Re: Caffe on the Green

I've been there for dinner-never for a wedding. The food is fabulous. I'm very picky about Italian food, my mom is Italian and is a great cook. Caffe on the Green is one of the only Italian restaurants that I really like. IMO, worth a look!
