Cage Veil - Can I wear it to reception?

Sorry for the stupid question, but I just don't know...

I am wearing a Vera Wang Cage Veil with my dress for the ceremony - it is long, longer than the dress. I am so in love with this veil - is there anyway I can wear it to the reception without tripping over it all night? Is there something that be done (almost like a bustle on a dress), that would shorten it temporarily?
