Cake Cutting Song??

I'm not sure what the deal is with the cake cutting song....is it supposed to be slow? Fast ? Soulful? Up tempo?

I don't have much of the music (aside from our song, of course) picked out, and I'm starting to think of father/daughter mother/son dance songs, but kinda uncertain as to the direction in which to go for the cake cutting song.

Let me know what style of music this is supposed to be...TIA!

I don't think it really matters if it's fast or slow. I just started thinking of my songs too, and I love the song by john legend called 'save room'. I might use that as my cake cutting song. youtube it... I thought it was a little non traditional, which is what I like

It doesnt matter what you use. If you want it to be slow it can be slow....if you want it fast it can be fast. Its whatever you want. We're using 'Grow old with you' by Adam Sandler from the movie 'The wedding singer'

HAHA we were considering this song as our first dance, but we don't know how well it would work out dancing to it.

we wanted a fun upbeat song, but also something that is personal to us
