does the bride & groom usually but the cake knife/serving set or is that something that someone else buys usually as a gift?
I only ask bc i found a nice one for $9.99-

my mom got me mine for part of an engagement gift before my shower. My sister got me the matching flutes

I registered for mine and got it - i also got the champagne flutes.. my mother in law wanted me to go get them engraved..but i never got around to it.. Register for them, most likely you'll get them, and if not, you can always run out and get it after the shower

I will use it whenever we have a family birthday party or dinner or holidays or something. its a cute reminder of your wedding in a non chalant and mini surprising way.
