This is FH's project and I am so excited to see what he is going to come up with.
He is a toy and figurine collector (mostly star wars and spiderman) alot of antique stuff.
He has complete reign to put whoever he wants on the cake. I have a feeling it is going to be Princess Leah and Hans Solo (is that the Harrison Ford character?)
anyway, we are sort of 'different' so a traditional cake topper doesn't do it for us.
Some of these sculpted ones are lovely though...very artsy.
BunnyMonkey, that's so funny - my DH too is a collector of Star Wars. Here's our topper (I had planned on trying to make a tux for Han and actually sew a dress to resemble mine for Leah (I'm a dork, I know) but I ran out of time.
ETA - Wow - I just noticed this was my 1000th post!!! Woohoo

Re: cake toppers
this was ours.....I had it on a rotating base that lit up
We are using this one too but then I deceided it was too heavy/big and I didnt want it ruined. So I bought the smaller version of it, only about 5 inches high and is identical.
Where did you get the smaller one?

Girls.
just so you know. You can get a heavier cake topper and have them add an extra layer on your cake that is actually a dowel (a piece of wood) that is covered in frosting so it can hold the caketoppper.
Hope this helps!

Re: cake toppers
This was my cake topper (first picture), but there was no room on the top of my cake (second picture), so I just put it a little off to the side and in front of my cake.
Thank you, its Lenox - I attached the Lenox link. My mom got it for me, I think she got it at Fortunoff's/Macy's -- it was the last one in the store. But I think you can find it almost anywhere they sell Lenox or contact Lenox.
Here's the link to the cake topper http://www.lenox.com/pg/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsp_prod_view&pid=5227&format=2&kf=5&i1=7&i2=3&i3=1&i4=0

Here is a pic of the smaller Lenox one that was posted earlier.

I love you're topper. FI just came in the room and said that he really likes your cake.
Did your hall make it, or did you get it done by an outside bakery?

This was ours also
where can you get that topper? it is beautiful!
We found it in a card store believe it or not! IT is by ENESCO. We bought the figurine rather than the cake topper. It was larger.

How cool are these, I wanted but DH wasn't sold on it.
they mold your face with clay!!! I love it
I LOVE THIS ONE!! LOL!! I actually saw this on another website but the topper was $5000!!! I thought it would be a cute keepsake (not sure if I would put it on the cake) but its cute to have. The ones on microdwarf.com are only like $200 !
