Where would you go if you had to pick up a small cake for dessert tonight?? I am DYING for cake... preferably chocolate but I don't know where to go to get a REALLY good one...
I want to pick it up on the way home so somewhere between Mineola and Massapequa would be great, but I'm open to anywhere to just tell me where to find good CAKE!

Malverne Bakey on Hempstead Avenue has the best anything!!!
We always get cakes from there and everything is so good. You can't go wrong!

I have two - but I don't think it is going to help you - sorry! One is Audrey's in Sayville and the other is Benkert's in Centereach - both are very YUMMY!!!!!
Oh - by the way - I am in the mood for Chocloate cake too!!!!

I love Sapienza's on Hempstead Tpke. (I think it's either Elmont or Franklin Square.)

Fortunato's in Greenpoint has the best Italian pastries. Maretta's in Bayside has good stuff too.

oh my goodness, I waited 45 minutes on Christmas eve for pastries... soooo goood!
Also Buttercookie in Floral Park and Storks in Whitestone.
Theres one on West Hempstead but the name escapes me right now, its German

i dont know of anyplaces in massapequa or mineola. but my favorite bakery is Bankerts or even alphine in smithtown.

there is a great place in queens on union turnpike in bayside area(???) - its called lulus and makes tasty cakes, italian pastries, cookies, etc....love it! too bad we live an hr away from it...but luckily my mom lives nearby!

'A Rise Above' in Huntington Village, it is a tiny mom and pop bakery, everything is homemade in the back kitchen, their blondies, brownies and cupcakes are great! And their specialty cake chocolate sour creme cake is UNREAL!
