ok, so who is having an ACTUAL PERSON, rather than a machine, do their invitation address calligraphy? I always thought that's what calligraphy was, but my invitation person said it's done mostly by machines now. does it make a difference? what are you guys doing? any suggestions? help please!!!

Re: calligraphy
I am having a person do it. She works with a calligraphy pen and dips it in ink and everything very old school..

Re: calligraphy
I am having them done by someone who is doing them by hand. Here is her website: www.afineletter.com. I just sent them out to her. I can let you know how they come out if you want.

Re: calligraphy
We've used two calligraphers for different purposes. For our inner envelopes and some outer envelopes (our invitation maker addressed most of our envelopes for free), we used Calligraphy by Lori. She did a fantastic job.
For our program covers and menus we're using Debi from The Blooming Quill. Debi's work is stunning, but she was too expensive for us to use for all our inner envelopes, etc. Debi has a website: www.bloomingquill.com. Lori's address is (I think) [email protected]. I highly recommend them both.

Re: calligraphy
Try the people on my budget vendor webpage - they're very good. Lori and afineletter is on there, as well as Reva Rothman and Carmela. All of them are great, and about $1 a set, inner and outer envelopes.
mine will be done by hand - I am doing it thru Lion in the Sun

Re: calligraphy
I did them myself on the computer...they came out great (at least my mother thought so!). I was going to have the invitation company do it...but to spend $2 and set...was not worth it to me...these envelopes are just going to wind up in the trash about 2 mintues after they are opened. JMO.
