I really need to settle a (FUN) arguement between me and my FH.
I see cops all the time wearing wedding rings but he says NO ONE wears them at his job. My dad didn't wear his at all, but he recently told me that it was all a scam and not to believe that they shouldn't wear their rings (so did my mom).
I need to know... are your guys wearing their rings at work?

My husband is NYPD and does not wear his band to work. It is his choice, based on where he works, and I am fine with it.

FI is a plain cloths dectective and he will not be wearing his ring due to the requirements of the job.....and I'm ok with that.

My FH is NYPD(narc) and will occassionally wear his ring(when married of course). I already know this. My friends Dh wears it sometimes and my BIL is a cop, never wears it to work. Its more about safety and the fact that they do scuffle and for them its not worth wearing and ruining it or the possibility of it cutting off circlation.
I look at it this way, with or without a ring, he is still your husband

Well FI just told me how one of the guys that he knows finger got ripped off while he was chasing someone, his ring got caught on something. This isnt the first time i've heard this either, a friend of mine on the job doesnt wear his anymore bc he also got his caught on something, but he was fine.
My FI works in a really bad area so i'm leaving it open to him, but if he doesnt want to wear it i'm totally fine w/ it.

Yes, Yes, Yes. FH has NEVER worn a ring before but will be wearing his wedding band. We're actually getting 2 for him, a nice one (w/ diamonds) and a work one (plain band).
FH's brother (also a cop) did the same thing.
Also, being a former cop, I know TONS of guys (and girls) who wear their wedding bands, tho it may be just a plain one.
That's what I did!!! I bought a nice diamond band to match my E-RING, and a plain band to wear on the job...All the married females I know wear their rings... 90% of the married guys wear their rings... I will always be wearing my ring, and my FH who isn't a cop, he's looking forward to it!!!!

My DH NEVER wears his ring to work. He has never been a jewelry person to begin with (doesn't even wear a watch), and he cited that story to me about the cop fighting and his finger getting ripped off.
The only bad thing is, because he doesn't wear the thing on a normal day when he is workning, he NEVER remembers to put it on when he is off! It kind of upsets me... but I haven't said anything to him about it because I know he is just forgetting and not purposely leaving it home.
I LOVE the idea of getting a chain for it though Thanks!!!!!
