Re: Calling All Plus Size Brides Please...
My biggest concern is that I won't be able to TRY ON dresses. Having worked for David's in the past I know they have plus sizes in stock. But where can a girl go to try on a larger dress besides them?

Rachel dont get yourself down there are plenty of places Keep the Faith
Rachel - I tried on Dresses in THREE STATES before I found 'the one'.
Went to NJ, Pennsylvania & Boston, as well as NYC. There are a few warehouses in PA that carry a pretty big plus size selection & different choices than what I found in NYC.
Try RK Bridal in Midtown - they have a good plus size selection of dresses to try on.

My tiara was my MOH's when she got married. I had it refurbished for $75. It looked great with my dress. I have nly seen 1 other like it and it was in a pic of a friends mom when she got married over 30+ years ago.
Plus size gals, Where are you buying your undergarments from (bras and corsets)what brand and price are you getting??? Thanks again

Re: Calling All Plus Size Brides Please...
Okay, I haven't bought any bras or corsets for the wedding as of yet, but I would like to put in a GLOWING recommendation for Frederick's of Hollywood (the catalog more than the store - I wasn't happy with the attitude at the store).
I'm a 38 DD (formerly DDD) and Frederick's makes the best plus size daily wear bra I have EVER EVER owned. I'm wearing one right now. The extra padding (which I thought I'd never want/need) is so amazing for support. Plus, I've found that if your chest looks bigger, it makes the rest of you look just that much smaller. It works, I swear by it! I can tell you that I'll be heading to Frederick's to check out bras and lingerie for my wedding (and wedding night!)
As for a very famous plus size clothing store - Lane Bryant - I used to work there, and their bras are AWFUL! No support, they wear funny, they shape funny, everything about them is just off! And their strapless/convertible bra is pretty much a joke in my book. The padding is uneven, and always made me look lumpy.

Re: Calling All Plus Size Brides Please...
thanks for the tip about the fredricks bras. i have the worst time finding bras, so i will be sure to check them out. and you are totally right about the lane bryant bras! no support, funny shape, poor quality. i always buy them because the sizing is good, but then i never wear them. they arebad news!!!

Hey, no problem! I forget the name of the line, but the material is shimmery, and there are removable pads in the cups (BUT DON'T REMOVE THE PADS - THEY HELP!!!!). Oh and there's a cute little Rhinestone flower in the cleavage!

Re: Calling All Plus Size Brides Please...
Here is a pic of my dress, I don't have one of me in it on the computer. There are tons of places that have plus size gowns to try on. I bought mine at the Lynbrook Bridal Center on Sunrise Hgwy. Princess Bridals in Farmingdale, The Wedding Center in Commack, Macy's Bridal in Manhasset and David's Bridal all have plenty of plus sizes as well. Good luck!!
