Don't stress! I was borderline regular/plus -- I hated the way I looked in the bigger gown samples. Once I figured out what style I wanted I tried on the regular gowns and just kept them unzipped. I actually got a pretty good idea of what it would look like. Also, I got a long line bra from Mary's in Woodbury and that made ALL the difference. I wish I would have gotten it before I tried on samples.
I have always gotten good supportive strapless bras from Miriams (I think that's the name) in East Meadow - in a shopping strip near home depot on hempstead tpke.
I haven't been there in years but everyone there was always so helpful.

Re: Calling All Plus Size Brides Please...
I just ordered my dress. I was so upset because I couldnt find anything I liked. And If I didnt order a dress soon I wouldnt have a dress!!!! I went to Lillettes in Baldwin and the first dress I put on I fell in Love with ordered it right there on the spot.
Tiny pictures, but it's all I've got! Here's the link to David's to see it a little better. Heidi's Dress Lestan's in Brooklyn, and Alisa's Bridal (formerly Bridal Outlet) both have plus sized samples to try on, as does David's. Good luck!
