Calling FH your 'fiancé'

Is it me, or is it hard to call your FH your fiancé? He's been my boyfriend for over 5 years... I keep forgetting that he's my 'fiancé'... then again, why should I get used to calling him that when I only have 3 months left before he's my hubbie?

Was just thinking about that this morning...

I forget sometimes. I feel more funny calling him my boyfriend because he's so close to being my Husband. I love when he calls me Fiance because then people ask 'When is the wedding' and I could talk about the wedding for hours. but yea, its a lil weird. Just imagine calling him your Husband. I think when I hear 'This is my wife...' I'll probably get chills!

Occasionally I slip and say boyfriend. I have a hard time calling him fiancee at times because sometimes I feel it sounds so pretentious!!! I love to say husband though!! I am calling him that more than ever!!

i totally agree...boyfriend was so easy and husband will be great, but fiance just sounds so uppity, you know? like i was gloating that i had a fiance.

Yeh, I don't like fiance either. Then again he doesn't either. So it works. We introduce eachother as Stacy and Pat. 'Hi, this is Pat.' 'This is Stacy' My feeling is, if you don't already know we are engaged or that we are even together or if you don't know who Pat/Stacy is by now...then you really shouldn't ever know!!!!!!!!

LOL I agree is is strange!! At work when I am talking to people sometimes I say boyfriend, sometimes fiance,sometimes I saw boyfriend err ugh fiance and then I get mad so now I started saying husband lol
Maybe I should just call him by his first name huh?

I think it's weird when filling out forms to have to write an answer for 'marital status'...we live together and are engaged, so it feels so weird to write 'single', but I can't put 'married' b/c we're still not legal

good question i say fiance but i cringe (am i really ready to settle down?!) yes but anyway i'm joking i actually call my man 'peanut' and i don't know where the hell that name came from but believe it or not he likes it...but he does not refer to me as fiance either he just says my girl or his all time favorite my heart

YES! You hit it right on the nose! I feel like it's kinda snobbish of me if I'd like be 'fiancé this...' & 'fiancé that...'... no offense to those ladies that are proud to vocalize it.

it took me about one year of the engagement to get used to calling him 'fiance'

Well I still don't refer to him as my fiancé!! For some reasons we both hate the term, and I think I've actually said it maybe once or twice

I usually say my future-hubby .. or just 'Anthony' .

I cannot wait to call him my HUSBAND though!!

Fh and I used to laugh at eachother whenever we forgot our 'proper' term in the beginning.

He sometimes refers to me now as his wife and that just sounds completely foreign to me at this point.

At first...I used to say boyfriend...and he started correcting me...and now I say fiance...and I'll slip my boyfriend here and there and it sounds so foreign to me...lol

Me too! Exactly

But I never liked the word boyfriend (or girlfriend)...I don't know...It just lacks a serious tone...I love 'fiance'. Had no problem adjusting.

Same here - less than 6 months left to enjoy being engaged so I'm calling him fiance, reading cheesy wedding books and stories about weddings, buying any and every bridal magazine, getting a manicure whenever I get a chip...getting my ring steam cleanded every time we go to the mall.

Maybe I'm milking it a little but this is the only year (13 months and 3 days in total) that I'll be engaged and I'm livin' it to the fullest!

I waited 6 years to call him my fiance and I use the term as often as I could but whats even better if FH hates the word so he just says wife. Awwwww!
