Re: Cameras for tables

Many of the cameras on ebay and at wholesale liquidators are recycled..so if that bothers you..just know that they are recycled. There are some on ebay that arent..but MOST are..I dont know enough about how the pictures come out. I saw apost where soem people said the pictures dont come out good no matter what from the disposables..but my sister had Kodak disposeables and her pictures are GREAT!!
If you dont want recycled..and you are on ebay..you can ask the seller a question..they will answer honestly..usually if they are new..they will say ' new ' in the ad. I checacked out the ones for 4.89 at the liquidators, and they are recycled. Im not sure what I am going to get at thsi point..probably hold out for new ones on ebay.

Re: Cameras for tables

I bought refurbished cameras off ebay and although they put new covers and plastic sealed them to look like they were all in great condition, they weren't. Most of the cameras didn't have a working flash and all the pictures came out dark and terrible. I didn't know that all the cameras were in such bad condition until I tried to get the film developed.I would strongly suggest that you only buy new!

Re: Cameras for tables

I would hate to have anyone have the bad experience with those cameras like I did.
I can't get those moments back. I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to anyone.

Re: Cameras for tables

Thanks everyone for your help. Now I am not so sure about ebay. The cameras I was looking at when I emailed the seller he said they were orginally sold as brand named camers and then the outside was recylced but then reloaded with new film. Does this still sound bad because they were recycled? Thanks so much for you help

Re: Cameras for tables

If I remember correctly, soe of the ebay sellers advertise tht their cameras ar band new and never been used - you can check them out maybe. Or if you do a google search for disposable cameras a lot of places come up and the prices are pretty good. Or you can buy them in person if it gives you piece of mind. I'm rethinking buyng them over the internet, actually, hearing about all of the problems!

Re: Cameras for tables

I don't know if it makes a difference whether you buy Kodak or generic. I have bought a few cameras in the past that were Kodak & Fuji and they didn't have working flashes.

Re: Cameras for tables

I was just looking online and most places that sell disposable wedding cameras say that they are recycled kodak max cameras. Anyone know where online I could find new ones. Thanks

Re: Cameras for tables

I am currently testing out one from National Liquidators - $2.99 each in the wedding packaging. The flash on them is fine. I haven't finished the roll yet but I'm not buying more until I see how they come out. If your reception room is bright, it will help a lot too. Try one before you buy a bunch.

I would definitely make sure that you get either Kodak or Fuji cameras...

I bought my cameras in October 2001 for my July 2002 wedding...I kept them in my parents basement where it is cooler...the pics came out nice

Re: Cameras for tables

Smilecaa I would suggest going to Kmart, Target or Walmart to get the cameras. I know some girls have bought the Wedding Kodak cameras at Costco/BJ not sure?? At the other stores, they cost about $4-$4.99 depending if there is a sale. I bought brand new Funsaver Kodak cameras at Kmart last week for $4 each. I would have gone to Costco/BJ but we aren't members.
A couple of girls here had bad experiences with the ebay cameras.

Edited to add my wedding is in March 2004 and the cameras I purchased expire December 2005.

I cant say what the difference is between Kodak and other cameras but I do know taht my sis used Kodak for hers and teh pics came out GREAT! Ill probably use Kodak..I wanted wedding decorated camers, but nice pictures are much more important to me than how the camera is.

Somehow get the message out to guests about how to properly take pictures. Many people don't seem to know that you often have to wait until the light comes on signaling the flash is ready before they take a pic.
