My RH actually put it in the contract -- but it was a reasonable amount ($450) so I dont mind. Some RH's suggest a lot more. My friend was married at Carlysle on the Green two weeks ago and they recommended $7-$10 pp -- and she had 240 people!

For my friends wedding last month they were telling her 5-7!! She decided to do 4 I believe as well.
Was this the wedding you went to at The Woodlands??? They suggested the same $5-7 to us... FH says they can keep dreaming or lower their 20% gratuity rate.
I will never understand this... I get it that it all goes to different people but if 20% isn't enough to tip everyone... (which in my case is going to cost us about $3k) can't they just up it and then not have me worry about carrying around cash on the day of to tip someone else??? I HIGHLY doubt $3,000 isn't enough to tip the people working at the wedding that day.
Sorry about that mini vent.
Yes it was the Woodlands, she was not happy to say the least when they told her 5-7.
really?! thats odd....the woodlands told me $3-5
Are you serious??? I'm going to have to ask Nicole about that one... that kinda pisses me off. Now they're definitely not getting between 5&7!!!!

i think my rh suggested $3-$5
This is what mine said too
us too
I was talking to one of our other vendors and he said that this whole thing is BS, as he knows from inside. give or dont give whatever we want. so at 1st I was thinking to give $500 (5 per 100 guests), but now I am thinking to give either 300 or whatever we feel like

My mom & I were just talking about this. They told us to tip the attendant about $50 and to me she will probably be doing more work for us than the M'd.
IDK..I used to do the payroll for a catering hall and the Md had to split the tip with the BM

Some places have a 'maitre d fee' built into your contract. If that's the case, I'd gauge your tip considering that. Bottom line, tip how you feel comfortable, just be fair. I've heard $3-5 as most places but if you're already paying a maitre d fee, I wouldn't give them that much. I'm old school, I tip based on service. At the end of the day, I'll decide how much I'm tipping.

Mine wouldn't make a suggestion...told me its totally up to us...but someone else told me $2 - $5, which sounds good. The more ppl you have, the lower end of the scale and vice versa. I think we're going to do a flat rate.

I've heard $4-$6 pp for the Maitre D' and 100-150 for the Bridal Attendant.
