I'm borrowing my sisters GORGEOUS cathedral veil and it is a tad wrinkled from being preserved.
I was told to get it steamed but would rather just do it myself and save a couple of bucks...(we are SO BROKE right now)
if i use low heat, can this be done or should I stop being so cheap and pay the extra 20 bucks or so to get it steamed..

Re: can a veil be ironed?
I would get it steamed, because what if if gets ruined.... then you'll have to spend even more money on a new veil

Re: can a veil be ironed?
I have heard if you hang it on a clip in the bathroom after a hot shower...the steam will get the wrinkles out. I would say you will probably have to do it a couple of times. Hope it helps. I would NOT iron it though.

yup steam it
chances are a regular iron will burn the delicate fabric---you don't want to risk it. maybe yo ucan bring it to your seamstress who is doing your dress and ask them to steam it for you

Re: can a veil be ironed?
Try hanging it up for a few days from something high, like a door frame or a curtain rod, spread the bottom out on a clean sheet because of its length. The wrinkles should fall out.
If it works, you save $20. If not, then get it steamed.

You should get it steamed. An iron would probably ruin it.

Re: can a veil be ironed?
Like someone said in a pp, put it in the bathroom and let the hot water run with the door shut. Kacey from Kholoud's actually told me to do this. I've done it twice and it works like a charm. I usually leave it in there for 30-45 minutes.

I agree.. Hang it in the bathroom with your shower running Hot water and the steam will smooth out the veil

Just don't hang it OVER the tub. You don't want to run the risk of it falling in the water.

THANKS LADIES... I decided to have it steamed professionally. I was going to do it in my bathroom but i had to drop off some dry cleaning for my FH and figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone...
btw- my sister, who now frequets li families had to look at my photo album to see her BM dress and what the *tea length* looked like, and said to me on the phone.
DONT YOU F*CKING DARE TRY TO IRON MY VEIL...
