Okay well I'm new to this, my firend recommeded it to me so i'm not really sure how this works but maybe u can help?
I'm looking for a reception location, my wedding will be in October 2007 we are looking for something on the water preffablly in Suffolk, and we are willing to go all the way out east if we have to, Any suggestions? We really liked the Thached Cottage, but I don't know to much about it and I have heard such mixed reviews. Has anyone gone to a wedding there and can tell me about it?
Thanks in advance for any and all help!!!
Heather
ps places that we looked at that were not handicapped accesable( 3 family memebers are in wheelchairs including my mom) Chataeu Le Mer-Lindenhurst The Vinitcan-Babylon they claim they are but theres always something they can't access, and whats a reception outside on the water if my own mother can't attend??

Thatched Cottage is nice. I haven't been to a wedding there in a really long time but I remember it being nice. Definitely check out Lands End in Sayville. It's beautiful there and definitely handicapped accessible.

I can recommend, from personal experience, The Crescent Beach Club. It's breathtaking. It's in eastern Nassau (almost on the border of Nassau and Suffolk... about a 10 minute drive from Suffolk), and in my opinion the most beautiful place on the water. You feel like you're on a cruise ship. It's a very impressive place (that's why I picked it for our wedding!) . Everything about it is perfect... their food ROCKS, too! Go to their restaurant to check it out (The Pine Island Grill)... you'll be VERY impressed.
Other places on the water that are also very nice that I've been to:
Lombardi's on the Sound (Suffolk) The Riviera (Nassau) Giorgio's (more NEAR the water for picture opporunities... Suffolk)
good luck!
FM me if you have any more Crescent questions!

I've heard such great things about it, but its kinda pricy, $275 plus tax & Gratuity on a Sunday night.. little bit out of our budget. The Riverea is booked for oct of next year already.. the others i'm gonna check out thanks!!!!!!

Riviera Crescent Beach Club Windows on the Lake Beach Club Estate
Are all on the water - each is in a different price range.
I purchased a magazine at Barnes and Noble called 'Wedding Sites and Services' which was really helpful - it listed tons reception sites in NY
Good Luck and Congrats.

Take a look at Lombardi's on the Sound in Port Jefferson. It is on the water and the food is great. From what I remember, the reception room is ground level and you can go outside right from the room. HTH BTY - Congrats on your engagement

Re: Can Anyone help me?
My friend got married outside at Timber Point in Great River last October and her dad is in a wheelchair - it was a great spot. FH and I actually looked at it for our wedding, but they didn't have our dates available. FM me if you'd like more info.... Oh and congrats on the engagement!

Chateau La Mer is wheel chair accessible.
Your mom can go outside and in the cocktail room and the lower ballroom.
Im not sure how to get to the smaller room upstairs but we didnt even use that room.
Where is not accessible?

Actually we went there and since were having only about 100 guests, we would have to use the room upstairs, right now they are in the process of an elevator, but they haven't gotten town approval for it yet, i can't hold out, i want to book something b/c the date is really important to us, it will be our 7 yr anniversary, and the riverea is allready booked for that date..

Also the Venitican is not completly accessible, if i was to have my cermony there, which i prob will, it would have to be in the upstairs room, not outside (y bother then) and i could not have my cocktail hour outside either... We want a place on the water kinda to be on the water..... thanks for everyones help!!!! Please keep posting u guys have great ideas!

Thank you so much I loved Lands End,, but for a Sunday wedding theres a min. of 150, well be lucky to get 120 we both have small families. were kinda tied to our date it will be our 7 yr. anniversary, and it just happens to land on a sunday otherwise i think i would change the date... Stinks, that place was a favorite...

Tell them youd have to turn them down because of that. I bet theyd give you the room downstairs. They did for me. I had about 125.

Re: Can Anyone help me?
Are you set on having your ceremony in October? If not I bet you could do it during a warmer month and have it in the gazebo.
