Re: Can anyone recommend ROMANIC restaurants in Nassau County??

The Wine Cellar at the Carltun-- you actually eat in their wine cellar and there are only 20 (maybe less) other tables. Another good place is Ecco on Jericho Tpke in New Hyde Park. There's also West End Cafe on Glen Cove Road. It's in a strip mall, which is a little off-putting, but the inside of the place is great and the food is outstanding.

Re: Can anyone recommend ROMANIC restaurants in Nassau County??

Stresa in Woodbury...quiet.. romantic...expensive...excellent food

Davenport Press..very quaint...although the decor could use an updating the steaks are great.

I've never been there personally, but I heard the Oak Room at Carlyle on the Green is great.

As I think of them, I'll write more

West End Cafe is very good, I used to go there from work. Barney's in Locust Valley is also very good. If you're willing to come into Suffolk (which I know better) I highly recommend Bravo Nader in Huntington- my absolute favorite restaurant- or Piccolo's in Huntington.

OMG! I forgot all about Davenport even though I go there pretty frequently! The decor could definitely use an update though!

Re: Can anyone recommend ROMANTIC restaurants in Nassau County??

Nick D'Angelo's - although it is crowded (its not intimate) - I found the ambiance to be very romantic.

Toque is very nice - its in Bellmore.

Also, the 56th Fight Squadron may be good (although I don't think thats in N.County)

Yeah, when we lived there it was our anniversary, Valentine place. Still love the food though and the service. Now we go to Stresa more in Woodbury since we moved out east

Re: Can anyone recommend ROMANTIC restaurants in Nassau County??

I second Benny's....
I have heard that the Mill River Inn in Oyser Bay is romantic...probably already need a reservation for Monday though.
Barney's in Locust Valley is another good choice.
Good Luck with your dinner plans!
