I think it's when they play a song & all of the married couples have to dance. The MC keeps telling couples to get off the floor by how long they're married. the last couple dancing is the couple married the longest. I didn't explain it very well. Sorry! It's a great idea though.

No you explained it right. Its an elimination to the couple married the longest is still remaining on the dance floor.
I don't know if I'm going to do this, because 3 out of 4 sets of grandparents are widowers, and I think it would be depressing. JMO

Its sometimes used as an alternative to the tossing of the bouquet and garter. The longest married couple gets both the bouquet and garter.
