Can I change my last name now??!!

I realize my first name is hard for people to grasp right away, but my last name is not that hard, and yet people still manage to butcher both names!! I've been making calls for work all day, and no matter how clear I say my name, they still think I'm saying something else!!

Can I please switch my last name to FH's already?? His last name is so much easier and can't be butchered unless you're dyslexic!!

you can't really change your name until the offical license comes in. u need to show that to the bank, dmv, s.s. officie

In HS, one of the nuns insisted that I was going around pronouncing my last name incorrectly my whole life...um...it's my last name...think I know how to say it.

I hear you considering what your last name is!! You know mine, is it really that hard?? They keep thinking it starts with a B or an S!

My own family pronounces my first name different than I do. They say John-a instead of J-anna. My mother says because it's the spanish way of saying it. How do you correct your own family?

Some people out there can manage to butcher everything! I feel bad for the people who are like I'm not an idiot when I constantly spell my name out for them so I apologize and say you don't know how many people misspell this name.

My FH's name is unfortunately harder but, at least I've had all of this practice spelling a fairly easy (or so I thought) last name!

As someone whose last name is constantly butchered - I can tell your that yours isn't difficult, Janna. (Johnna?)

Please...the easier the name the more they butcher it... I swear...I thought my name was butchered, but DH's is just 3 stinkin' letters...you wouldn't believe what comes out of peoples mouths...

Same here... my maiden name was looong, my married name is much shorter and IMO much easier to pronounce....more often than not, my maiden name is said correctly and my married name isn't!

Same here too- My last name is nine letters long and nobody pronounces it correctly even though it is said exactly as it is spelt!!! It is hard too because I am a teacher and i always have to train the kids to spell it right and say it right- even the same kids I have had in 7th and 8th grade still spell it wrong- I cant wait to go to an easy to say and spell 5 letter last name!!!

My last name is 11 letters long, italian, and nobody can pronounce it. I am going down to 5 letters! Whoohoo!
At work i have to use my first name as my last (i take calls all day), when i say my name is Ms Laura, people cant even get that right, they say things like 'ok, hi norma' or ' thanks, gloria'. I dont even bother correcting them anymore

Ah be careful what you wish for my fair Janna. Some couldnt WAIT to change their last names.

Just when you thought you'd be in the clear, you get a voicemail while you are in HAWAII from the Town of North Hempstead. So then you have to wake up at 6 am on your HM the next day and call them to find out that your marriage license isn't complete and your officiant needs to mail more info to them before they can mail it to the state for processing. so you can't go to Social Security, DMV or use your DH's name legally. Do I know who that happened to? Why yes I do?
