Can i RETURN my e-ring?? ****updated****

I would take it somewhere else and have them look at it and see what they say about it changing color like that. I wore my ring for 2 1/2 years and it didnt change too much...I had it dipped for the wedding and that is it. Once!
SOmething is not right

I was told that he only pure white metal is platinum. My e-ring and wedding band are both platinum and though they have dulled in shine, the color has never faded or yellowed.

However, the actual band I was married in was my mother's band and was 'white gold' - I wear that ring on my right hand everyday. Before the wedding, had it rhodium dipped so it would be shiny and look nice on my hand. After a few short months, it did yellow and looks nothing like the platinum rings I wear on my left hand. Mind you, the band I wear on my left hand next to my e-ring is plan with NO stones so you can actually see the difference quite clearly.

Keep us posted. Yes, white gold is yellow gold dipped, but I got married in Feb 05 and got married in Oct 06. My e-ring has been dipped once and I have not yet needed to dip my wedding ring. I only ever take my ring off to clean it.

This sounds like a stupid question but....

How do you know it needs to be dippe din the first place? Like how white is it supposed to be? I know my e-ring isnt as 'white' as my bands or so it seems in pics but I think that may just be that they are two diff styles because if I look at the back band part they look the same.

Can someone explain the 'dipping' process to me/? I asked the FH but he gave me blank eyes.

WOW. same situation with me. i got my ring feb 18th and had it dipped 4 days later. they said that when they sized it up from a 7 to a 7.5 that it must have been dirty. they cleaned it and said it wouldnt happen again. well i had it dipped again in may. and now its gross again and my FH is in afghanistan and i cant have it done until he gets back.

its an expensive ring and it was from macys. you'd think they would be more reliable. the jewler also told me its my body chemistry!

i was like, OMG after 4 days you said it was your fault, now the other times its been my fault!!! my white gold wedding band hasnt changed since june 16th.

im super pissed as well.

my ering is whit gold. I've had it for 2 1/2 years, and I've only had it re-dipped once - and only then because I took it in to have it appraised and he offered to do it white I was there. To my eyes it didn't even really need it at that time anyway, but I was there so I figured I might as well.

I agree to have it checked out by a reputable jeweler - 4 times a year sounds excessive to me.

ok this is going to sound sooooo dumb but what does it mean to have it dipped??

i have had my ring re rhodiumed is that the same thing?

Actually, your body chemistry does affect whether or not white gold will turn yellow! Some people can wear it for years and years and not have a problem, but some people will just always have an issue because of their body chemistry

I haven't yet had a problem with my white gold jewelry, but I do know people that have.

Yup, this has happened to me! I had my ering for 1.5 months before I had to get it redipped.......I've now had it for over 2 years and it has been redipped sooooooooo many times! My body had too much acid in it which in turn makes my ring turn on me. It sukcs...................

my ring is white gold - it is supposed to be more durable
i have had my ring for 2 years now and have never got it re-dipped. i think that falls under teh first line of their contract you posted
