he is BEYOND AMAZING!! I highly reccomend him.. it's crazy how he knows sooo much about diamonds and gems..
What does having a ring appraised typically cost??
May I also ask a silly question....why have a ring insured & appraised? I wear it 24/7...

Having it appraised is usually a requirement to getting it insured (so there's actual 'proof' of the value of the ring/stones).
Having it insured is very important because, even if you NEVER take it off, the prongs could become loose without you noticing and you could lose your diamond! Or God forbid you got robbed or mugged etc. Or you lost it (took it off to do something specific and couldn't find it) etc etc etc.
Things happen, basically, so it's always a good idea to have it insured so that you have the peace of mind that even if something happened, there would be a way to replace the ring (can't replace the emotional value of the first ring, but at least you could get a new one and not lose the money).
HTH!

It is TOTALLY your body chemistry. For everyone that says 'that didn't happen to my ring!' its probably because they dont have this particular acidic nature....
My own ring which I've worn for about a year has had the same thing happen, I am waiting to get it dipped before the wedding (by the way, where do you get this done?)
The reason it may not happen with other jewelry might be the fact that you aren't wearing it every single day. It really stinks, i know how you feel.
Dont wear your ring when you use the sanitizer and that should help. Also be aware when washing your hands, putting on lotion etc... just take it off and wait for your hands to dry.
