We are taking a wall down between the LR and kitchen to open it up and putting a banister on both sides of the stairs. Anyone have a pic of this? Thanks!!!

Sorry I can't help you here. When we were looking at houses we saw a couple like this and it looked good. We have a nice banister on one side (living room) and a half wall on the kitchen side. I want to redo our kitchen eventually (new cabinets and expand out the front). When we do this I want to close the half wall to make a full wall, so that the cabinets will wrap around on that wall. This will give us so much more cabinet & counter space.
Anyway, I didn't help at all, but my point was there are so many different options in a Levit house. Good luck.

We are taking down that 1/2 wall that is along the stairs and opening it up to the kitchen. I can't wait to see how it looks. You saw this in some of the Levitt houses and it looked good? I just have a vision in my head.

I used to live in the upstairs of a Levitt house and I'm trying to remember what my landlords stairs looked like. They had the walls opened up, but I don't think they had banisters on the stairs on either side. I know their kids used to play on the stairs all the time so I think they must have had something there so the kids wouldn't fall off. I'm pretty sure the wall extended up a few inches above the stairs, but parallel to the angle of the stairs. Does that makes sense? It was nice the way they had it. It was nice and open feeling. I think it would look good with banisters too though. Are you leaving any part of the wall or is it going to be open under the stairs too?
