And please report this incident to the proper authorities, that is completely unacceptable

that is so sad- sorry to hear that Jen. I pray that things get better for her. What an inhumane way to be treated. Can you report this to someone?

Jen, I am so sorry to hear about your Grandmother and all that you are going through. Remember that we are all here for you and may your Grandmother eventually go to a better place (I hope that does not sound mean).

Oh my God I am so sorry!! It makes me cry everytime I see elderly neglect, you need to report these people IMMEDIATELY!! Vegetable or not she is still a human being and this is totally unacceptable.

Jen, I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. I agree with the other poster, you need to contact someone and report this nursing home.

I completely understand how you feel. My grandmother lived with us, too. She started to get dementia in her 80s, and lived to be almost 98. Throughout that whole time, she still lived with us because we promised we would never put her in a home if we were able to care for her ourselves. It was a complete horror and nightmare to watch someone you love deteriorate physically and mentally. Dealing with the dementia was also a nightmare. She died three years ago, and I was holding her hand. Even though it was so sad, at the same time there was an element of relief when she passed away. The stress was finally over. I can relate when you said you wish God would take her.

Hang in there. Know that you are doing your very best, and from what it sounds like, you're doing more than your share. Try to take care of yourself, because the stress can make you sick. And report that nursing home--the Board of Health or somebody needs to know about it--even if it's 'Shame on You' or 'Seven on your Side' or one of those news things.
