Re: Can someone explain to me
Good question. But they last a lifetime. I will do anything for a coach...don't tell DH that.

High quality leather, superior handstitching and detailing.
As far as their fabric bags, it's only the name.
I don't buy fabric Coach bags. I only buy the leather ones. I feel justified doing that.

You pay for the name. Period the end. Sure, I guess you could say that they last longer or are made better than other bags. But really. Who cares how long a bag lasts...chances are you're going to want to buy many of them in your lifetime...
It's just a company marketing off of the fact that people feel better about themselves when they have things with name brands on them to show off.

I guess if you buy the trendy styles, you would want to change frequently. I usually buy classic style clothes and accessories and so I am still carrying the Coach bag I got in senior year of college (98)

Re: Can someone explain to me
MY Dh calls my bags 'Roach Coach' because they're small. I like small bags.

I have one - a small one - it costs $138. All my bags my entire life, never cost more than $30.
I know my mom would love one - I just can't see spending $300 on a bag!!

Me either.
I read an article about 'luxury' brands lately, and Coach was mentioned (positively) for being a 'luxury' brand that's more accessible than others (i.e. Louis Viutton, etc. which are much more expensive.)
ETA: I have one that I use almost daily- I have had it for three years and it looks brand new. It was worth the money to me.

Yeah something about spending $700 on a LV bag that is vinyl seems silly. I would rather spend $250 on a leather Coach in one of their classic styles and have it for 10+ years.
