So many of these rumours about Obama people are posting crack me up because a lot of them circulated via email and were stretched and skewed. Now I understand why those funny Nigerian scams got so far!
I cant wait to see if my terrorist/Arab friend is elected
I dont even read most emails period and never open any chain ones or anything other than somebody speaking directly to me so i dont know what gets spread through email
I do not believe everything that is said against Obama, there is not truth to everything and I do understand that. Some things though I would like answers to bc i am a bit confused, not even saying that its completely true but if its out there then i would like for it to be proven that it is not true.
I dont hate obama, and until i heard some things i thought he was great.
I am not going to attack him and say that everything said about him is true bc i dont know exactly what is true. I just feel theres too many connections and there has to be truth in it somewhere, or else he wouldnt be able to be linked.
I will be honest and say that I do NOT like Rev. Wright and it does bother me a bit that Obama does attend his church. I do not think people are always guilty of association and at first when things came out about Rev. Wright i said its ridiculous to pin the same things on Obama. BUT at first i didnt know it was something spoken about openly at his church, that made me feel differently. Like i said before, if i went to a church that was making racist remarks then i would NEVER attend that church again. I would not be able to sit there and listen to a man preaching such things and cheering him on, i would want no association with it. This is a fact and rev. wright has said racist things and there is proof of it.
The ayers connection i also would like more answers on. Just a few days ago the news, local news too interviews a harvard professor who admits being part of that association with ayers and saying Obama was part of it. Not going to accuse him yet and say its 100% true, but again i would like to see proof to say he was not part of it.
ALSO, for the national anthem people still put their hands over their hearts, at ball games everybody does and its the national anthem sang not the pledge of allegiance. Now ive seen pics and videos of him doing it and not doing it so with this one i wont attack him for it completely. There definitely are some gray areas and just want answers for certain things.
Now i am not a huge supporter of Mccain either so not like i am attacking obama and WOO HOO mccain, bc as of now i dont like either.
I do think Obama has some great ideas, i actually think he did a great job last night during the debates and spoke very well and i really like that he didnt want to discuss the attacks and wanted to focus on the issues and it bothered me that Mccain just wouldn't stop with the attacks and just speak to us and tell us how you feel about issues and stop talking about how someone else feels about something.

The funny thing is, which i said before AND on the other thread, is that I am not a McCain fan or technically a 'supporter'.
I happen to just think Obama is the WORST thing that could happen to America. A democratic president and a democratic congress together would NOT be good
I may not LOVE McCain's plans, but he is not a communist. If I have to vote for someone, it is going to be someone that served his country.
I am a registered Democrat.
I understand that you feel strongly about Obama, but I dont understand how you can say that a dem president and dem congress would not be good, but you would have voted for Hillary?

He isnt a member of that church anymore and hasnt been since Wright had his outburst. Im sure Rev. Wright calling white people the devil hit Obama kinda hard considering he was raised by his WHITE grandmother. He wasnt even attending church when Wright was saying these things.
The pledge of allegiance thins is ridiculous. I have sang the national anthem sooooo many times in my life and have not put my hand on my heart. I wasnt taught that was the way. It doesnt mean I hate my country.

The pledge of allegiance thins is ridiculous. I have sang the national anthem sooooo many times in my life and have not put my hand on my heart. I wasnt taught that was the way. It doesnt mean I hate my country.
but wasnt he a member of the church for 20 years, so is he doing this now only bc he is afraid of how it will effect the election. I am sure rev wright didnt JUST say these things out of nowhere after 20 years. Plus Rev Wrights views have been out there and its not just something he has started speaking out about. I think you can understand why some people really dont feel comfortable with the fact that he was part of the church. It really does bother me alot actually and honestly if it wasnt for these things then maybe I wouldn't be undecided.
I dont think somebody hates their country bc of it. I think if this was the only thing out there then nobody would say a thing. It's the fact that yes he was seen not doing it, then the whole not wearing an american flag thing, the che guevara in his office, and then being linked to an anti-american group. SO its not for that one action but its all the other things that make you wonder. Again not saying he is guilty of every single one of those things. And hey everybody is entitled to do what they want even if i disagree with it. BUT its also different when all eyes are on you and you are running for president.
I do understand what you are saying and yes alot of it is propaganda out there i wont deny it. I am sure there are false accusations out there, thats a fact. At the same time we can say 100% of what is being said is not true. If it is not true then i am happy to hear that but then again NOBODY on here can say exactly what his relationships are with certain people. I dont want to just hear that its not true with no facts to back it up bc the same way anti-obama people can come up with propaganda and spin things, its the same way supporters can try to hide facts.

Re: Can someone get me McCain's #?
Hey! Lets talk about some of McCains SKETCHY RELATIONS!!:
1. John Hagee -- After wooing him for a year (including over breakfast), John McCain secured and accepted the endorsement of Hagee in February, appearing on stage with him and stating that he was 'very proud' to receive Hagee's endorsement. Among other things, Hagee has called the Catholic church 'a great *****' and a 'false cult'; said that Nazis divine agents were sent by God to chase Europe's Jews towards Palestine; said that God will send terrorists to America to create a 'bloodbath' if the U.S. government pressures Isreal to swap land for peace; and said that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God and were the recipients of the judgment of God for that sin
2. Rod Parsley -- McCain also sought the support of Parsley and in a campaign appearance with him, McCain introduced him as 'one of the truly great leaders in America, a moral compass, a spiritual guide.' Parsley has called for the destruction of the entire Islamic religion, and described Islam as 'anti-Christ' and Mohammed as 'the mouthpiece of a conspiracy of spiritual evil.'
3. G. Gordon Liddy -- John McCain had a 1998 fundraiser in Liddy's home, and Liddy has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to McCain's campaigns (including $1,000 in 2008). McCain also appeared on Liddy's radio show in November, where Liddy greeted him as 'an old friend.' McCain told Liddy that 'I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family. It's always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great.' Liddy served four years in jail for planning the Watergate break-in that ended Richard Nixon's presidency. In addition, Liddy has acknowledged preparing to kill someone during the Ellsberg break-in 'if necessary,' plotting to murder journalist Jack Anderson, plotting to murder Howard Hunt to stop him from cooperating with investigators, plotting to firebomb the Brookings Institution, and plotting to kidnap 'leftist guerillas' at the 1972 Republican National Convention using Nazis-style tactics. He's also said, among other things, that he thought the U.S. should've kill more civilians in Vietnam, that Branch Davidians should 'give [ATF agents] a firefight' by 'shooting for the head'; and that Hitler's speeches 'made him feel a strength inside [he] had never known before' because 'Hitler's sheer animal confidence and power of will [entranced him]' and 'sent an electric current through [Liddy's] body.'
4. Carl H. Lindner Jr. -- Lindner co-hosted in 2008 a $25,000-per-person fundraiser for McCain in the wealthy Indian Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, raisign $2 million. Lindner also serves on McCain's Ohio Victory Team. As CEO and board member of Chiquita Brands International, he oversaw the companies payment of $100,000s to the Columbia terror group AUC that is blamed for many of the country's worst civilian massacres. After being indicted by the Justice Department, Chiquita admitted to illegally funding the terror group and agreed to pay a $25 million fine.
5. Bob Allen -- Allen was appointed co-chair of McCain's Florida campaign. Allen was arrested for offering to pay for sex from an undercover police officer in a Florida rest area.
6. Charles Keating -- You know the story. Keating and his associates showered McCain with over $100,000 in campaign donations. Keating met with McCain repeatedly and demanded that McCain meet repeatedly with regulators on Keating's behalf to pressure regulators to drop their investigation of Keating's savings and loan. McCain and other Senators met with regulators twice in what was viewed by the regulators as undue and improper pressure. Keating served time for being a crook.
7. Oliver North -- North endorsed McCain this year, an endorsement that McCain's campaign touted by circulating it to the press. When North ran for Senate, McCain endorsed North. Of course, North was a central figure in Iran-Contra scandal and convicted of shredding documents, accepting an illegal gratuity and aiding and abetting in the obstruction of Congress.
8. Ralph Reed -- Reed co-hosted an Atlanta fundraiser with McCain. Reed's lobbying and PR companies received at least $4.2 million from convicted felon Jack Abramoff. Oddly, John McCain in his Senate investigation of the Abramoff scandal did not call Reed to testify, even though Reed was handling the Indian tribe lobbying McCain was investigating.
9. Maj. General John K. Singlaub -- The linked recommended diary covers this connection well, McCain and Singlaub sat on a board together. Singlaub was involved in Iran-Contra and also was active with the World Anti-Communist League, described as 'a collection of Nazis, Fascists, anti-Semites, sellers of forgeries, vicious racialists, and corrupt self-seekers' by a former member.
10. Todd and Sarah Palin -- Husband of McCain's running mate and repeatedly on the stage with him. Todd Palin was a registered member of the pro-successionist Alaska Independent Party, an anti-American group which advocated the succession of Alaska from the union. Sarah Palin repeatedly addressed the AIP's convention, and has been reported to have been active in the party as well.
When the media starts breathlessly reporting about McCain questioning Obama's associations, will it bother to look into McCain's only questionable associations? Probably not -- but perhaps we should help 'em out a bit.

First I think it's insane to think Obama who is half white is a racist...he hates himself? He is the most level headed sincere person. In the primary I was for Hillary but I had to admit that this guy was a GOOD person.
He did clear many of the accusations but the problem is people believe what they want to believe reagrdless of how many times he explains his plans, clears his name. He is logical and sensible but people think 'he's scary' hmmm....
Since were on the Rev Wright, Ayers, ACORN lets discuss KETTING 5...McCain supports try to defend him the way I AM ABLE to defend Obama on all counts
THANKS

I dont wanna use the race card but these investigations into his 'guilty by association' relations I believe have to do with the way his name sounds. It sounds like a TERRURIST (trying to sound like the wackies at the McCain rallies)

i do think info should be out there about both of them. I cant argue what is true or not true in that article but i am sure there is some truth to it otherwise like i said, nobody would be able to link you to these things otherwise.

oh ok that explains it. I was wondering why it wasnt moved to NWR and deleted completely.
I think even Mccain and his team are sitting there now like 'WHAT WERE WE THINKING' i think they were looking for a woman, looked on paper at what women were in politics and picked her for whatever reason without doing extensive research. Theres just too many other qualified women in politics. I think theres even some people who might like Mccain but are so afraid if god forbid something happens and Palin becomes our president.

Yeah I dont normally report posts. This may be the second one I ever reported and the first one was another political thread, the one where I got personally attacked, Im sure you remember that one There was a big difference between a post like this and a post like that.
As far as Palin, I really think McCain is regretting his decision. I think it had to be the worse decision of his life because had he picked someone more credible, I think he would be undoubtedly winning this election.

Yeah i think we all know he is regretting this decision but now he has to stick with it. Hmmm you think so? i think obama would still be ahead but again just an opinion, not sure what would happen if Mccain picked somebody else. Although if he picked a woman that so many other people out there respect and love then yeah i can see how that would make a big difference

When anyone says anything negative about EITHER one of them, people will automatically assume you are voting for the other and quite honestly, I find it scary how many people trust Obama
you are right, I dont know who you are voting for, but we can't afford any negativity on the McCain side
i have a question - why do people think obama is a terrorist? or has links to terrorist? or whatever it is.... im just curious.....because i hear a lot and get chain emails and hear all these things about him but do you really think that he would have made it this far if it was true? if he had bad intentions or whatever? im just curious to hear peoples opinions on that....
how did i miss this thread?? ...Oh yea! I just got back from the McCain rally here in PA. Was awesome btw.
anywho, i could have had a field day with this post!!!
why do ppl think obama has links to a terrorist? ummmm. bill ayers ring a bell? would you start your political career in the living room of a DOMESTIC TERRORIST?? he's just ONE of a slew of radical associations.
and he's made it this far by being a slick politician.
