this home is listed for $1,019,000? Lot Size is 80 X 100 and appearance is Excel ++

It says master bath w/ jacuzzi and terrace (emphasis on terrace--off the bath?)

garden city estates might be a nice area, but give me a break. IMO, the house needs a major decorating overhaul.

Crazy!

People can get away with asking for outrageous amounts unfortunately because there are people willing to buy for this amount!

you're right! these are the very same people that force the rest of us out of the market. i understand that just becuase the house is listed at one price doestn't mean it is going to sell for that price, but nonetheless it still aggrevates me.

Regardless of what work needs to be done on the house, you are paying for the area on this house...there are people out there that will purchase this house for either a million or a little under...

FH & I are actively looking & have been in open houses on a house that is being sold for over $700K & needs $200K work done...

This is why majority of young couples buying homes are leaving NY...There is no such thing as affordable on LI or a starter home!

I agree that it definately needs some updating and redecorating, but the structure looks good. Meaning that most of the work needed is cosmetic. Do I think it is worth 1 million? No way! But the area is what drives up the price there. Plus someone may end up gutting it and put a larger home there, that was done next to my in-laws. Garden City Estates is a nice area and very convenient to the city, quite an easy commute.

OUCH!!!!!! the nerve of people................Even in my area in wantagh, we looked @ 1 cape & 1 ranch with no property & needed a bunch of work, nothing under 350,000-400,000 for little pcs of crap! Like they say paying for the area,which is very sad
