Im already buried in bills for this wedding. FH and I decided to buy a new TV instead of gifts for each other which is fine but that still leaves EVERYBODY ELSE.
i'm so not feeling the x-mas spirit this year. :(
please tell me im not the only one scrooging

I can relate very much.. we dont even feel like its christmas.. with all the bills from the house and just living life everyday our checks are $0 ... mind you wedding planning.. this xmas we are also doing the same.. no gifts except our 2 boys & a TV for the house for all of us.. things are just crazy... its depressing watching the news.. waiting to see whats going to happen next and guess where we will be this time next year....

We are the same way. We bought each other a new camera that we really needed, since ours was broken. My whole family is really taking it easy on gifts this year, but I feel like we have been doing that for the last few years anyways....but this year things are even tighter... Honestly I think it is better to think about what the holidays really mean. I am just so happy that I will be able to spent time with the people i acre about. Its not all about the $$$$.

I do not want to cancel christmas but I really wanted to buy gifts only for the children in our family and our parents but FH will not agree to it...Some days I think he forgets exactly what our expenses are!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL!!!! I'm so with you date twin!!!!!! I havn't been in the spirit at all. We're struugeling so much with the wedding bills i can't even believe that it's December! If i had a christmas bonus to look foward to then maybe i'd feel different. I need a second job to pay these bills!

Ladies I feel your pain. We have a four year old so we HAVE to put up our tree. Our son is the only one getting anything this year from everyone. My family agreed that he would be the only one this year beacuse tis the season of bills that have spun out of control for EVERYONE and with our wedding coming up everyone is preparing for that in their own way as well. FH and I decided that we would get whatever we want after the wedding. It's only two months away so it's not that long off. Anyway I feel the who gifts thing should be left to the kids. We as adults should just get together and eat and DRINK ALOT while the kids play.LOL

Ohh I sympathize with you all. I can't bring myself to decorate this year nor put up a tree! FH and I have a cruise two weeks after christmas and we want to do excursions so we aren't getting each other anything great this year =(. There is just so much to pay off, rings, honeymoon, ughhh.

I agree. It's super stressful this year, and money is tight all around. We've cut back, FH is buying for his family only, I'm buying for mine only, and we're just putting each others names on the gifts, whereas in years past we each bought for each others families in addition to our own.
And then the news of the pay-raise freeze and no end of year bonuses hit me like a ton of bricks today It's just really tough. Guess I shouldn't have bought that dress last night lol.

I have been feeling very blah lately about Christmas. I haven't decorated the apartment yet and I even asked FH what he thought if i didn't sent out cards this year (the thought of buying cards and stamps almost put me over the edge the other night). We agreed we were only doing stocking stuffers for each other (even thought I haven't put them up!) and I got my family to agree to only get gift for the kids.
The only Christmas miracle i'm hoping for is a job wth Verizon to come through for FH - then I will spread christmas cheer all over

I've heard of a lot of big Familys doing this:
They do a Secret Santa with everyone in there family...that way you don't get a bunch of crappy gifts you don't want but instead one that you really want!!! You can make the limit like $100, your only buying one gift so you don't spend that much $$$
