Can we Start a New Thread

Original post by Alexandra17

about what we have learned in the process of planning ..to start it for the 2011 brides and even ourselves?

I have learned that no matter how many damn bustle clips you had, your bustle just might fall!

Expect to hear 'it will be hear before you know it!'..a billion times.

In my humble opinion, the most important piece of advice is.........

DON'T LET THE WEDDING TAKE PRIORITY OVER THE RELATIONSHIP!

the wedding is one day, the marriage is a lifetime....remember what is truly important!

1) order more invites than you think. They come out of the woodwork and your parents forget about people.

2) I know a lot of you want the little things like custom menus, table numbers, etc..if you have the budget, go for it, if not NO ONE NOTICESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! They just look at the bride, want top shelf liquor, good music and food.

3) DO what you want..wear what you want. I wore my boots and everyone took a deep breath...made no freaking difference and it looked great it pics.

4) There are people who won't show up. **** it up. Don't let them ruin your day!

5) My motto was no pay no say. Worked for me.

6) Get the pics you want. Not what everyone else wants. Let them pay for a photoshoot if they want something. Give them a window for their must haves..they snooze, too bad.

7) Allow time for some vendors to be late. It happens.

WELL SAID!!!!

id also add- as much as you want to, try not to talk details with people while youre planning. because youd be surprised how many people dont have tact and offer their opinions and advice, when you least want it! if i heard 'oh really, you know what you shouldve done?' one more time....
and the last thing you need is another reason to second guess yourself!

i have also learned that wedding planning can bring out an ugly, jealous side of people, and ultimately you are better off knowing this in the end.

So sad...but sooo true!!

I've learned that too little research makes you feel like you made the wrong decision, and too much makes you neurotic, because you'll never find EXACTLY what you want! lol
